I updated to 3.1 and had no problems. The April security update caused a few problems. Once got that sorted everything is running smooth . And with May update brought improvements to camera and nearby share. The choice has to be yours. I'm just giving my own opinion on it. Not everyone had problems. Hope this helps.

20200219 as per XDA forum: The US model is not rootable yet. The bootloader is locked and can only be unlocked with a very expensive engineer token that's specific to each device. Someone on here found another way but isn't able to share. Maybe in the future. Only the international and HlK/China Snapdragon model can be unlocked. So if you bought the phone in the US and brought it to Canada, changed the Carrier to let's say Freedom Mobile or other carrier, your phone will be stuck at android version 9

Super Presh, 17 May 2021Ok. So which one are you advocating we move insteadI believe he is heavy user and his phone can't breathe. I avoid updates and don't have any problems with overheating or restarting.
Phone that deserve absolute atention is Redmi 10X PRO 5G because it has flagship specs, it is twice as powerful as higher midrange phones (check Antutu to imagine) and it is all rounder for 320$(128GB) or 380$(256GB). There is no phone like that and it is really cheap and good value for money.
I will stick to my S10+ until the his last day. It is really great phone in ecery aspect.

Not even one year in and the phone starts to shut ... moreI personally have no problems with s10 plus Yes battery drains if playing games or on phone 24/7. Rebooting your phone once a week. Is good for battery. There are other things you can do to make the performance of your phone smooth. Some have no problems and some do have problems. But I personally have been a Samsung fan for years. I've tried other brands and they don't meet my expectations the way samsung phones do. Like I said that's my personally opinion.
