Another thing I found out is the play services behaves well when the phone is on Wifi. However the moment I start using 4G/LTE, then play services goes bonkers. The phone still lasts almost a day (21-22 hrs), but the SOT is abysmal and hovers around 3 hrs when it reaches 20% battery. I guess I will have to reset.
All,
As a followup to the 512gb sd card I was trying to install which wouldn't work. It turned out to be a bad/bogus sd card. I ordered a new one in which amazon was the supplier instead of a 3rd party. My macbook instantly recognized the card, popped it in the s10+ and no problems at all.
Moral of story is be cautious of 3rd party sellers of sd cards on amazon even those with lots reviews and high ratings.

Actually in itself Google Play Services doesn’t actually drain your battery as such. It’s really other apps communicating with Google Play Services , location access, Wi-Fi, data, and running in the background that causes the drain. I only have my favourite apps ive used for couple years. Argos app at the min uses 3.8% Google play services 0.5% in my phone. But that's not a problem for me. I use WhatsApp, youtube, calls, texts , emails and downloading movies etc
I can get over day on my phone. I personally would advice you factory reset your phone. Backup your data first. Start from beginning.

It's Google play services which shows continuous background usage in Gsam and device care. I have cleared cache and data after force stopping it, but the play services drain is still there. I am also losing 10-12% overnight (7 hrs) on "medium power saving" mode primarily due to play services. My last resort is to reset the phone.

I get a similar SOT about 1 hr 20 mins when it reaches in the early 70s battery. However on days when I use less screen time, it falls to 70% in 6-7 hrs with 40-50mns of screen time.

I have just checked my s10 and it has been off charge now for 6 hours and there is still 72% left. I've spent about 1 hour on fb which is a heavy battery user, and perhaps 20 mins on Google and perhaps a half hour on the phone. Does this sound similar to your experience?

Is there a brand of screen protector that actually allows the fingerprint reader to function properly? I've tried two supposedly thin that fingerprint reader should work but doesn't.

Sorry my mistake .Holding power and volume down button reboots phone. I was thinking of clearing cache partition. But that reboots phone. Once a week is good for battery.

I have a Nokia and Asus Rog 2 and I tried in the same conditions with same SIM and the battery drain when not in use is slightly less than 1.0%/hr. If I dont use my s10+ much during the day, I see it drop by 40-45% by late evening whereas my ROG2 drains only 25-30% with exactly similar usage. It would still last a day as you say, but there is always some battery anxiety with S10+ which I dont have with my other phones. I have disabled a few things and cleared cache as Maggi suggested. Am crossing my fingers that the standby drain should improve in the coming weeks.
Entropy, 28 Jul 2020So I finally gave Exynos another chance and bought the S10+. However even after disabling and ... moreHi Entropy I have an s10 exynos and it is brilliant. I would have thought that 2% per hour would be quite normal. I don't check my battery usage during the day but I normally leave my phone on charge during the night and I easily get a full day out of it with still plenty left.
ThatDude, 28 Jul 2020I bought new s10+ with 1TB in Netherlands for 880euros. why buy one with only 128gb?Actually He said the exact same words as you.. So im buying him it for his birthday. But I wish i had have gotten that one to lol. But im happy with 128gb model.

But with Adaptive Battery, your phone will prevent apps from drainging your battery while you're not using them. It will keep learning and keep making your phone more battery efficient as you keep using your apps. But some ppl disable it. I have mine enabled. Its really up to you. Its your choice. Everyone us different .
Maggi, 28 Jul 2020As you have only just got your s10 plus the battery takes a while to be calibrated properly.... moreAlso, should I disable 'adaptive battery' option? I have read on XDA forums that it may help.
