Thanks for taking your time in writing all these.
Hi, from India. I bought the S10 a couple of days before. The electronics store had a couple of old models. This one is a Feb 2019 make, Exynos version.
First impressions are pretty good. Gorgeous display. I was using the Samsung Note 8, and the display gave up, so replaced it with the OnePlus Nord. Did not like a lot of things that I was accustomed with, in a Samsung device, like the Theme store, and the S-Amoled display, 3x4 keyboard, etc. The 3.5 mm jack is a blessing, love it.
Anyway, I received around 7 updates, one after the another, each around 1-1.5 GBs. The updates changed everything in the device from when I first opened the box.
The battery is okay, not bad. Before buying I read hundreds of reviews mentioning the bad backup, so I had a mental block that the battery on this one was bad too, and started noting down the battery percentages. Turns out it is not as bad as portrayed. Mine lasts a day. Usage pattern is 1 hour of phone calls, 3 hours of social media/youtube videos, 2 or 3 theme changes, 1 hour of whatsapp, couple 10-15 photos, 1 hour of general fiddling, Wifi, 4G LTE continuously on, display at QHD setting (not compromising with the display; that is what I paid for, mainly).
Couple settings I make on every Samsung device:
1. Wifi, 4G LTE continuously on, display at QHD setting (As another user correctly pointed out, keeping on Wifi, continuously, and turning off SIM data service saves some power).
2. All other sensors off.
3. No sound/vibrate for anything other than calls.
4. Notifications turned off for everything other than office emails, zoom, whatsapp, sms (the rest are junk anyway).
5. Location access denied for everything (Uber and Zomato only when in use).
6. AOD display set to show for 10 seconds after double-tap on lock screen, and off at all other times.
7. Turned off apps I never use like sync, NFC, bluetooth, this-n-that-share (or something like that), wifi calling, weather data, health apps, other useless bloatware), Samsung pay, Bixby, etc.
8. Turned off news feed from apps like Chrome, Opera, FB, Samsung Free (or Dashboard like apps). They are uselesss anyway.
9. Set the Bixby key to open camera on single press, and Bixby on double press (will never use Bixby anyway).
Used my wife's One Plus Nord's charger once since both has a type C. Observed that the battery charges from 20% to 100% in 20 minutes. I think this has got something to do with the wattage of the charger. The battery drain is still the same.
So after all the above, and 5-6 charge cycles (charging with the stock charger takes 1.5 hours), the battery lasts for a day, and I charge it at 8am every morning while I get ready for office.
Oh and by the SPO2 sensor is a blessing in the Covid times, and regularly test SPO2 levels for the family. Readings till now have always been accurate, when tested again with an actual oxymeter.
Resons I ditched the OnePlus Nord- Amoled display doesn't come close to a Samsung device, bad keyboard layout (would accidentally press the home key instead of space), device would randomly delete all draft sms saved as notes (yeah I'm old school), camera settings always reverting to default on closing the app, no 3.5mm port, no option of folder structure in main menu (third party launchers suck in the long run), no option of system-wide themes/icon packs, no 3x4 keyboard layout (have I already said I was old school?), no slide to call/sms, severely lacking organisation features in gallery and call management (no option to selectively delete call history), and no "star/lock message" option (yes this is important to someone with OCD amd a habit of deleting everything). Things I miss are awesome sound quality, pretty awesome camera, and a 3-position customisable slider on the side of the device.
So far so good! Loving the device.
salim, 20 Apr 2021Wrong! They are under the displayActually no, I checked the device test menu and it doesn't show an actual proximity sensor (yes, it's original)

Hi Friends, it possible to convert 973N, S10 korean single Sim to convert to dual Sim and how, using Android 11 and when mobile shuts down it shows LG U+. Is it LG rom on my S10. Thanks in advance.

LR, 08 Apr 2021I think S10 is better, because it has better camera, AMOLED screen and maybe better processor.X3 pro has sd860 (slightly oc'ed version of 855 without 5g) and 5160 mah battery but camera is not that good, shit ui, heavy and bulky. After using s8 for a while lcd screens look bad to me I am so used to amoled and the camera is really reliable so that's what I'm expecting from s10. so yeah, going with the s10.
My s10 locked itself over night never wanted a password but kept asking for a pass word 3 days on phone with samsung to help factory reset kept coming up with this weird sd card bla bla running from top to bottom of screen they even said it was weird so took to local source to see if they could factory reset they worked on it for 2 days said s10 locking customers out is common they couldn't reset so now samsung wants $60 to unlock my phone even tho there tecs and the source say it got a glitch. Any suggestions on how I can get samsung to unlock this glitchy phone its not even a yr old yet
Anonymous, 08 Apr 2021S10 or Poco X3 pro?I think S10 is better, because it has better camera, AMOLED screen and maybe better processor.
Look at all these greedy critics saying the s10 is bad.Honestly, having one for 2 years,I don't see what's so bad about it unless you want a bigger battery. It's a standard best that really shouldn't be judged just because later models will have the same thing since some of them will fail. For example, the s20 series is trash.🙂
S10 or Poco X3 pro?
Anonymous, 23 Mar 2021Is the camera on this good? It's pretty good, but the camera software is bad.
this phone is battery disaster
Likemike63, 28 Mar 2021Hello guys, which one should I go for s10 second hand or the new Samsung's A52? Am confus... moreGo for S10 blindly. You will get way better experience. Go for refurbished or new.
Worst phone experience ever is the Samsung Galaxy S10+. No instructions whatsoever. Can't even answer a simple phone call as it locks you out after 10 seconds. Hate it and wanted to smash it with sledge hammer. Made one phone call since I got the thing in Dec for X-mass and It started playing a video during the middle of the phone call. Horrible, just the absolute worse pile of crap ever created
