Had to post another comment after android 10 update. Hate this update now. My battery is draining quickly. I've it on charge for the second time today. Was better on pie. Also getting heating problems which I never had before. I've to bring it to samsung centre on monday for them to check it. If they can they will put pie back into it for me. But it depends on what model I have which I forgot to mention. This update is awful. Themes not working. QR not working. So angry at myself for updating . This is my personal experience with android 10. It was pushed out far too quick by samsung. Instead of doing intensive test on it before pushing it out. My advice DONT update for a while to make sure theres no bugs in it.

I got that call recorder app from playstore. Even some of the apps on playstore are misleading and untrustworthy. I don't download much apps. Only my banking apps from my bank and few other apps. Apart from that I'm never in playstore except to update the few apps I have.

Stay away from fishy websites and always think twice before installing from third party sources.
scorpio, 06 Dec 2019Maggi how would you identify a rogue app from any other app and where would it have come from ... moreRogue app can be defined as any app doing anything else from what it's designed for. For example, facebook is designed to give you the social media experience, but under the hood it's tracking your day to day things like what you do, where you go and etc. So it runs in the background collecting different types of data, consuming more and more battery.
In Maggie's case, a call recorder app has caused her phone to freeze. It was probably a poorly developed app which made the whole phone freeze.
If your phone behaves differently all of a sudden, freeze, heats a lot without a reason or having below par battery life without giving you any clue, it's probably because of a bad/rogue app.
Under normal circumstances, you won't experience this at all. If you only install from the play store, you're pretty much safe. But still, before installing, you might probably should read reviews for a certain app if the app isn't from a reputable developer.

I charge my phone during the night and when I take it off the charger I will normally open it by looking at the camera (face recognition) which is instant. However quite often the phone will give a message that it has been re-started and that I need to enter my password to unlock it. I don't know if this is a feature of the s10 as it never happened on my s8. It's no big deal to me but just seems strange. Could it have anything to do with leaving it on the charger all night - although I used to do the same with my s8 and it never had to be re-started.

You said your phone I don't understand? Your phone tells you what? A rogue app can cause lots of problems. Because some are duplicated to ones in play store. It can cause problems in phone system or other apps. For example on s7 edge i found an app which cause phone to turn of randomly or freeze. So i had to put my phone in safe mode and check apps. It was an app called call recorder. So i uninstalled it and solved the problem. Theres alot of rogue apps that we don't know that's out there. One app can interfere with another app. Your better googling it .

Also I assume that rebooting your phone entails shutting it down and re-starting or is it something else? I charge my phone every night and quite often in the morning it will tell me that it was re-started during the night. Is this part of its programming?
