The summary of my comment was,
Huawei can use ARM's technology as it's from UK. ARM isn't under USA rules. Huawei just didn't use the latest ARM processor and GPU in Kirin 990 for some unknown reason. I was just guessing the possible reason.

Anyone has any information on Exynos 990/9830 benchmark result ? They used to be out by this time previous years.
Is it possible that Samsung might not use exynos SoC for S20 at all ?
I know it's not possible but the scores should have been out by now. At least a couple of weeks ago.
Im happy but its gonna be 1399$ so still, its a god phone but god price
Anonymous, 03 Feb 2020Seems you forget that Huawei can’t use ARM Soc anymore.According to my knowledge, that's not true as ARM is UK origin. Huawei accused A77 not reaching as high speed as they wanted. So, they ended up using A76.
I guess that's a big lie from Huawei, actually they are quiet good at it.
I guess they thought they are not going to appeal much to the worldwide market as they cant use Google service. So, why spend money on designing new SoC ? Chinese people will buy it anyway.
That's just my point of view.

How will huawei use g77 next ? They were supposed to put mali G77 in kirin 990. The next year G77 will already be old and the successor will be out. What's the point ? Kirin GPU performs much worse than exynos one which is weird as they have same GPU.
Single core perf is more important than multi core perf for daily task. Multi core perf is needed when heavy load is going on.
Anyway Exynos 9820 is better than kirin 980 in every way.
16 core is too much to use as it will produce more heat. If it was so easy why didn't Huawei use 16 core G76 in kirin 980 ? I bet something fishy definitely going on with the new kirin 990.
