Well said my friend. I share the same views.
I even posted similar views in the S7 forum on Good Friday (March 25th). When I said the only upgrade I see with the S7 is the camera and that I will stick to my S5, a blogger by the name of 'P' replied telling me about battery and CPU etc. being better as if I should give up my S5 for that. After my reply to P, another blogger commented telling me that I made a very good point. I have copied and pasted the entire conversation.
Here is conversation quote and quote:

Battery and optimization - a quad-core cpu from 2 years ago doesn't compare with a quad-core cpu from today that's better optimized x
To P:
That's exactly what I'm talking about, the upgrades are basically the same as every other manufacturer upgrade for 2016 CPU, RAM, battery etc.
The Galaxy S has been known for innovations which made it stood far out from the crowd. The S2 was a significant improvement over the first S. The S3 was just as significant over the S2 with things like smart alert, smart stay, pop-up player (have the video in a separate window while performing other tasks) etc. Then the S4 took things to a whole new level with features from the Samsung Smart TV and Galaxy Note 2 (Smart Scroll and Air View respectively) but the cool part about the Air View is that while the S-Pen was needed to do it on the Note 2 a pen wasn't needed to get it done on the S4...Samsung revamped the entire screen just for the Air View to work without a S-Pen...that's innovation.
Then along came the S5 with more innovations most notably the first smartphone to come with a heart rate sensor and the first Galaxy S to have a fingerprint sensor...that's innovation...and it's impressive to know that it is water resistant without it being the bulky active version...that too is innovation. Most impressively the S5 was able to maintain every feature from every previous Galaxy S (except the FM Radio which got cut since the S4). I only used the radio once on my S2 just to test it out so I won't cry about it being gone these days.
The S6 removed essential stuff like the SD slot and Ingress Protection and sealed the battery to top things off. That's not innovation. The S7 brings back the SD slot and Ingress Protection but removes the IR blaster (infaRed) yet everybody jumps for joy. That's not innovation. Removing a feature from one model and bringing it back in another model is NOT innovation.
Samsung has clearly ran out of ideas. I will stick to my S5 octa-core. It has everything including a removable battery which has sadly been gone since the S6. I guess I will have to wait to see what the S8 has to offer. Hopefully it will bring back true innovations to the table and not just offer a camera upgrade only in terms of pixels

Samsung user, 24 Mar 2016Do not buy Samsung phones! I had a Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 and Note 4. All of them stopped functi... moreStill have my S3, S4 and S5 all working perfectly for many years. If you have 3 phones stopped working in 3-4 months, I would think its user problem. If they told you its rooted, you may have been ripped off by the shop that sold it to you. They may have sold you a rooted used phone.

Is it a signature ? S7 is better look, but when I read the term of waterproof, it become drawback, the speakers still functioned just fine once dried off, but with audio permanently muffled and distorted.

To this day the Galaxy S5 has done me wonders from dropping it washing it throwing it and still... im able to write this post with it. I have however tested and refused many devices such as the apple line of flagships sony flagships lg's google nexus and many more, but i still find the galaxy S5 the overall better phone with a good camera soft on the eyes type screen that does not make you feel like your trippin on acid every time you unlock the device, great performance, cheap to buy, sd card slot, removable battery, removable back incase you want a bit of a change in colour, weather proof, and most of all easy to use one handed and light.
Other smartphones may have a few higher specs but the whole glass back and front or lack of nfc in some devices or even the lack of weather ceal is something that should always be installed on any device considering the price tags in most smartphones today.
Today we even have a 4k screen which might look good at first glance but in an ideal world what good will it do you when everything media wise gets compressed when uploaded to the web and therefore the 4k resolution is really just for your personal use when replaying a video you have taken yourself and watching it on your phone or on your tv if you can afford one in 4k.
So that brings me to the conclusion of this view. If your looking for a cheap smartphone that can do you proud for many more years to come the Galaxy S5 has it all.
When i am trying to Update My Device to Marshmallow, They shows there is no update for this device from AT&T. ( Samsung SM-G900A) S5. I am from Bangladesh. Is there any problem for my Location or AT&T is the main factor.

Do not buy Samsung phones! I had a Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 and Note 4. All of them stopped functioning within 3-4 months each time, and the customer service did not even fix one of them claiming that it was rooted even though it was not. Do not use their products!
