I am thinking of buying new smartphone, my strategy is to buy last year flagships, because they got a good price cut, and of course, my two candidates are S5 and LG G3. I wonder which one should I choose, I am keen on camera, music and social networks, I dont play games.

Sudden death occured here. I'v been using it since June 2014 And after a year this happened. So, i dont hv warranty now, and i think i will need to pay huge amount to repair this.
i also posted my good opinion praising for s5 this month on this same thread by exhanging with note 3 but now i cant beleive on these electronic things anymore. I feel i wasted huge time and money..

AnonD-420074, 22 Jul 2015Hello guys my phone (s5) keeps on freezing every now and then and I have to remove The battery... moreHi Mozey..i did not experience any issues with my S5..did you root or install any custom roms into your phone..maybe it had one something wrong with your phone..doing factory setting will not change the rooting or customization you had done, trust me..you have to install newest S5 firmware from Sammobile.com and flash it through Odin..everthing will go back to normal, as original as a new phone..hope this help you..bye..

My phone stopped working---I have had it for nine months.....it only works when the back is off the phone.

galaxy s5 is best phone i have ever seen . with fingerprint sensor only me can unlock this is pretty good :) i really love the battory backup of my s5 . it gives me full day sometimes more on net . camera is also very nice . with ultra hd recording . (i cant play ultra hd video on laptop because very high defination video ) . :p

Restart the phone without a sim c... moreGo to samsung mobiles site,there you will find no.of mobiles,below which at right hand side some options are there,one of which is "contact us" this option is useful, since from here you can send mails to Samsung technical people or even samsung higher authority.Just go and check for yourself.Good Luck.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2015Just take out your mobiles sim card rub/clean it.put it back,hopefully your phone will restart.No, I've tried everything... Restart the phone three times.. Restart the phone without a sim card or memory card... Wipe the cache partition... Factory reset phone... Put phone into Airplane mode for 2 minutes and restart... Put phone into Airplane mode and try to make a call and wait for the phone to turn Airplane mode off tec. etc. I've tried them all. It's a problem with the Samsung firmware which Samsung refuse to address. I Googled the problem and got 235,000 hits, so it's well a known problem; but nobody knows the cure; but as the phone refuses to recognise the sim card then the phone is useless. The problem isn't with the sim card itself because it works fine in other phones.

Hi guys..i am from Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia..my second opinion for Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z3 i am using now..i know many would agree or even disagree with my writing, but i own both. So, i am giving my opinion based on facts and hands on experiences of camera, screen, build quality and usage basis..
- S5 grippy hold with faux metal battery cover is good, plastic body kinda cheap..Z3 body is so beautiful and metal body is really nice..front and back is slippery and really a finger print magnet.
- S5 battery standby time is so much better than Z3..this time of writing, my Z3 is plug in to the wall, and my S5 is still has some power to do this comments.
- S5 heats up to minimum at the back beside the power button, but my Z3 heats up even more on the upper side of the back. I really feel the heat with Z3.
- S5 camera is excellent compare to Z3..Based on my eyes and my wife honest opinion(she uses IP5S), S5 excel in the camera department. Z3 camera is also not bad.
-Z3 double firing front speaker is awesome..S5 back speaker is at shame..the sound produce on both phone is clear and loud enough.
- network reception is same with both phone. I get good reception of signal. I use two number with the same network, so this fight is a draw..
-screen on both phone is gorgeous with fullHD build..
I am being very neutral here. I love both phone and i will never suggest which is better or which to buy..both will be my daily driver for a long time..that is all from me
