Im pretty surprised with this one its still a fast phone even today.. well not for gaming lol but for social media use its pretty good tho it heats up alot. its pretty old now so i am keeping this as one of my spare phones just incase it comes handy one day for now im using a newer samsung phone and tablet!

Well... My new battery was good for a few months, then the phone would just switch off at 34% full. Once it switched off at 80% full while I was trying to take a photo of a cat, haha. And when I started charging it, it started from 0%. The problem is that the battery was new and original, but made two years ago, I guess that's when they stopped making them. If you can get one that's still good, awesome. I had the same problem with my old Nokia N8, I bought 3 replacement batteries that were all bad after a few months. Still, I used this Samsung for 5 years, and I bought it when it was 2 years old already, and I don't think I'll ever have such a good, reliable phone again. 7 years!
My sister just bought a new phone and gave me her old P20 Lite, apart from no water resistance and no replaceable battery, it's way more advanced, and I basically can't empty the battery in one day, so I'm fine.
Maybe I'll look for another battery for my S5 later, just to keep it alive. To all of you still using it, good luck!

Careful with the promise of replaceable batteries, the two I bought were worst than the original which I am still trying to use. Have been told there can be a compatability issue with brand new batteries and the device by a technician. Samsung technical department were of no help in resolving the issue.

lil boy, 06 May 2022S5 does still works nice for me would love an S5 BUT BIGGER VERSIONyou could always get a note 4 or a new xcover device, i heard the xcover 6 pro will be awesome since it retains the waterproofing, has a removable battery, and will come with android 12 out of the box!!

theFrederick, 16 May 2022Replaceable battery and expandable memory make this a great emergency phone even in 2022. I am still using my S5, for two reasons. Its not too big, nice size for my pocket and I can change the battery in 15 secs flat.
I wanted to upgrade long time ago, but cant find a phone the same size, exchangable battery,etc. It supports all apps, so no need to change to something else.
Batteries in South Africa cost about $10.

O still use my s5 as a music media center... Android 11 lineage age with security patch april 2022...unbelievable how good is this Device.

We still use our S5's to this day. Has lived up to the reviews. We just purchased 2 new S21's today since more and more apps don't support the outdated op system. We'll keep the S5's as back-ups.

Samsung Galaxy S5 stills great. In some ways the Galaxy S5 lives up to it. It is a very good phone, particularly when you look at all of its parts. Good camera quality with strong battery life. Still using 2022 with limited apps running.
