Because the previous Samsung Gala... moreYou should have watched the Samsung's conference. They clearly said it's water resistant ONLY. You can put it under water, but don't let it.
In the box, you got a memo saying that too : under water up to 1meter no more than 30min.

[deleted post]sorry, that s5 octa-core version is really octa-core. Can run 8 cores at the same time. Correct ur statement please. Also it is A15 (1.9GHz) and A7 (1.3GHz) and the cheating (if you did mention S4) already removed on KitKat.
Currently, even the heaviest gaming use only 2 cores. Correct me if im wrong. I got LG G Pro with s600 processor but when gaming, only 2 cores will active. So s5 would be useful when games use more than 4 core. For now, the A7 inside is very useful for battery saving than the snapdragon ones.

So.... Anyone here has already used the phone under water?
Because the previous Samsung Galaxy S4 Active,
waterproof and dust proof variant of S4 do die easily on water damage.
And, Samsung do not offer water damage warranty.
So, it isn't that waterproof after all.....

Checked the phone out and being a phoneaholic having owned 35 odd phones over two years guess have a sense of first and last impressions. Having built a powerful brand with almost every 3rd person nursing a Samsung, it's high time they paid attention to the build and quality of the flagship. Extremely cheap build and finish doesn't do justice both to the phone and it's legion of fans. Very flimsy. Especially when you compare builds of the iPhone, htc one and M8. Xperia and moto X etc. Sad. It's time they broke through with a new design and build paradigm. Let it not be the beginning of the end when they have evened out price value spikes in the smartphone market.

* Take and answer to calls.
* Messaging.
* Web browsing.
* Taking photos.
* Listing to music.
* Play games.
* Check & send E-mails.
* Make payments through the smartphone.
* Chat on social-media.
iPhones can do every basic things that Android phones can do. So, iPhones are not basic phones.

Octa core only shines in benchmarks sadly. The best processor are from qualcomm currently. And yeah it's just 3g. 4G is coming in India soon. Why would you pay 50k for a 3G phone when the competition offers 4G
