Man when they (Samsung & the other companies) will learn that we need a big battery?
If a small manufacturer can do it why a big manufacturer cant do it?

Everytime you want to listen to radio you need to insert the wired headset and you need to stretch the wire to get a better reception. That's messy and distracting.
Internet radio app is better because you can select better radio stations not only locally but all over the world and listen wirelessly with clear reception using a bluetooth headset or speaker. No need to insert the messy wired headset.

If you are in a place where network is not steady why would you buy a 4G phone? Since its 4G functionality will be useless, you wasted your money. Better buy a basic phone with FM radio and save your money.
Why would people buy a 4G phone if they can't afford unlimited data plan? For what, to display to their friends?
You don't need another phone to listen to your favorite FM radio, all you need is a bluetooth headset with FM radio, is that a big deal to buy since you can afford expensive phone?
You will enjoy the wireless freedom to answer incoming calls using a bluetooth headset with FM radio.
FM radio in smartphones is just an option nowadays.

Because you dont need fm radio does not mean others dont. You live in a country where you have steady network for streaming internet radio, what about villages? What about places where network is not that steady? Or you can afford unlimited data plans, what about people that can't afford? Am in the US, and i use contract that comes with 2gigs a month, should i use it to stream internet radio while manufacturers can easily put fm radio in the device? The hardway for fm radio is not a big deal since they can put it in simple $15 phones. Or should i go and get another phone and start paying another bills just because i want to listen to radio? Why can't i have it here? People have been complaining since S4 and yet samsung is oblivious of those complaints, I wonder where their so called listening to customers is. This is simple injustice that attracts death sentence. They can put the fm radio, of you don't want it and can afford internet radio good and fine, you leave the fm and use your internet radio majority that need the fm stuff will use it and everybody is a winner , everybody is happy.
FM radio receiver is not there since they reserved the memory for Touch Wiz.

Can you tune in radio during offline mode .. Can you tune in radio witout wasting your 3g data... Dont be silly.. This is a complete downgrade from the S4. Samsung's horrible commercials won't even save them now.
seriously people it's a smartphone, why would you want to listen to scratchy FM radio. "hey what are you doing on your band new state of the art all capable smart phone?" "um listening to FM radio" I mean really how dumb does that sound, besides if you're that desperate to listen to your local radio station, there's probably an app for it anyways....

Most people don't use the built in FM radio in mobile phone that is why it is removed.
I have a tablet with FM radio but I prefer to listen to TuneIn radio app when I want to, because I can connect it wirelessly to my bluetooth Bose Soundlink Mini without the messy wires. Can you do that to the built-in FM radio?
And on my phone, while it is charging, I can listen to the radio through bluetooth headset.
Can you do that to the built-in FM radio while the phone is charging? LOL!
RueLeonheart, 05 Mar 2014No, I only use FM radio to hear news while I am commuting.Use bluetooth headset with built in FM radio, that's simple.
I picked up a galaxy s4 19506 here in the Philippines and the specs of it blow the gs5 away. Only problem is I cannot use lte unless in Korea. Thats ok I am mostly wifi everywhere back in the states anyways. Also the 8 core processor Samsung Korean version, don't remember what model that is off top of my head but come on Samsung bring that greatness I have with my I9506 to the gs5.

And I worked in other country so all the local radio broadcasts were in local language, how do you think the built in radio will be useful?
Let's say you are an Indian working in China, will you still use the built in FM radio to listen to Chinese broadcasts which you cannot understand?
Radio app lets you listen to most radio stations worldwide and you can use wireless headsets to let you move freely at work.
The whole world is not you and not me, please don't be bias.

By the way, how can you enjoy the radio in your phone if the music from the bus and jeepney you are riding is louder?
