AnonD-237389, 03 Mar 2014You wanna know why z2 is better,I will tell you
1_much better design
2_much better build qua... moreDesign and UI are subjective, but the Z2's camera will most likely be worse than the S5's, if the Z1 is anything to go by, the battery life will probably be bad, like in the Z1 (6 hours battery life when browsing the web is pathetic), and, quite frankly, LCDs are rubbish compared to the far more versatile AMOLEDs. And the S5 is a very good phone in itself, so...
#REALTALK ALACATEL has something big launching this year, its gonna be a GAME CHANGER mark my words, u heard it here 1st #REALTALK,Announcement to be announced in Slough's fruit and veg market dis summer TBA
I like Sony phone, but i don't like its battery life. Now i hope the Xperia Z2 will have the longer battery life than any other smart phones. :) :)
Expect this to be priced around 65K - 70K In India. That too without the Gear. Add another 18K - 20K for the gear.
AnonD-237389, 03 Mar 2014Sure removable battery has its own advantages,,but the ten reason of yours except 2 of them Ar... moreOh wow. You can't even point out those 2 out of the 10 things a removable battery is advantageous over a fixed non-removable one.
But there's are injustices of what a built-in battery system for SMARTPHONES holds.
1. Weaker and tinier battery.
With the more power demanding hardware, and new OS features, you'd think they would increase the batteries. Instead, they have resorted to "it got 20% thinner" and "it's waterproof" but in reality it's just water-resistant of about 1m depth and anything beyond that, water seeps in. Is a shorter usage time what you want with a 2mm thinner device? Switching off features like LTE just to get by the day?
2. Exorbitant prices for replacing built-in.
It would happen long after your warranty expires. Warranty for my region is only 6 months to a year. Battery degradation happens after more than a year. It'd cost you more than twice the amount at the service center. For big OEM batteries like the Note series, it's only around $25.
3. DAYS or even over a week to have them replaced.
Fixed batteries aren't always stocked, and hence the ordering time needed to get them. You can imagine too the millions the manufacturer has sold and you'd be not the only one in waiting. In the meantime, what do you think you'll be using as a smartphone? How much time you'd think going to the center and coming back again to get your device back?
4. Making us carry power banks, power jackets or plug in more, away from home.
I thought the whole point of mobile devices is being wireless. What use is that thinner design form factor when you end up carrying extra stuff thicker than your device itself? Power jackets just can't give you an equivalent 100% charge, heats up everytime and becomes dead weight.
5. Limiting capabilities & features and LTE signals.
Steve Jobs NEVER officially signed off with LTE for the iPhone. Verizon's CEO said so, only after Jobs passed away. We got iPhone5 users complaining about LTE signals not and switching to the 3G signal often. Apple never intended its users to download torrents, unless you do some hack configuring with the settings. They just don't want you draining that tiny 1500mAh battery they put in.
Sony is following the iPhone path with its premium line up where their batteries are fixed and not optimized.

Atleast it doesn't look like a bandaid. Xperia is built with proper care and premium materials. Not like Samsung mass production like a chinese shoe factory. You can identify an Xperia from another Xperia, all designs have unique features. Not like Samsung same old gloss plastic from low end phones to flagship phones. Yuck

It can stream radio on the internet seamlessly without using any messy headset wires.
Or buy a basic phone with FM radio, you don't need a 4G LTE phone.
POS phone. This coming from someone who has owned every single Samsung Galaxy flagship phone. I was waiting for a better built phone with more innovative features. Extremely disappointed Samsung. I'm buying the Sony Xperia Z2 this year.
AnonD-237389, 03 Mar 2014It's all about ip58 and ip67,
Z2 has ip58,which mean it can withstand water immersion Below o... moreUnlimited time? Under water? Geez.
Then the Z2 would have a "9" on the 2nd number for Ingress Protection. My wife is an engineer who deals with this sort of equipment acquisitions for engineering projects. An IP69 would be special equipment which stays under water for long indefinite periods of time. Unfortunately, the Xperia Z line up has flaps and have glued seals which will peel off after some time, as we have seen what happened to the first XZ.
Sony claims to have only a certain number of meters submerged under fresh water conditions. I believe it can't go beyond 2m, and only for 30 minutes maximum. Going beyond those will have water seeping in the water filament sheet protecting the audio speaker and the protective flaps for the insertion point start to give up because of the water pressure and time.
AnonD-188202, 03 Mar 2014sir xperia z2 water proof , water resitant
and s5-water proof , water resitant
plz tellIt's all about ip58 and ip67,
Z2 has ip58,which mean it can withstand water immersion Below one meter for AN UNLIMITED TIME,so this mean waterproof
But s5 has ip67 which mean it can withstand water immersion for only 30 minutes, which mean it can resist ONLY 30 minutes,so s5 is water resistant phone,
but s5 is stronger against dust
AnonD-188202, 03 Mar 2014same as z2 not water proof only water resitantTrue!
AnonD-237389, 03 Mar 2014No,you took s5 so big,,and remember that only 2012 xperia werent good in battery life, since al... moreLet's see... since last year, Sony came out with "flagships" Xperia Z, ZL, Z Ultra, and presently Z1. All have terrible battery life!
You either had to not use any of them so much, turn off notifications, carry the charger or a power bank, keep it plugged in while in the office, or all of the above just to get through the day till you get home.
It's so ironic that Sony had came up with such a sleek simplistic slab of a design that they forgot that battery longevity should also count. I wouldn't be surprised that this is the same case with the Z2 again. It is such a great injustice for all those who got sucked in with just the look.
All I'm saying is Sony should step up with battery life. I mean the realistic mixed used, all day notifications updating with internet on for at least 16 to 18 hours with at least 6 to 7 hours of accumulated screen on usage. It's such an injustice that they even kept the battery from being replaced with a fresh one.
Do you know why removable battery is still very much more practical than a non-user replaceable? I'll give you 10:
1. Better battery cycling and thereby longer life.
2. Just over a minute to get a full charge back than wait 2 hours to charge.
Here's how Samsung owners do it:
3. No need to carry the charger or a heavier power bank.
4. You have a choice of a third party extended battery, even tripling the capacity.
5. Safer to charge on a cradle than on the device as about 10% of batteries have chances to be unstable.
6. Reduces the chances of theft while charging outside the house.
7. An extra battery is smaller and thinner to carry inside your pocket.
8. When your battery finally gives up, you just buy a new one.
9. No need to pay for more expensive internal battery and wait for days to have it installed.
10. Your device becomes practically wireless without the need to plug in via the micro USB most of the time if you just charge the spent battery via the battery cradle.
[deleted post]Iphone better with all its restrictions and non customizable features and worst of all it only has mobile internet not desktop internet hahahahahahaha what are you on??
