I am horrified and disgusted by the update last night, 6/4/16. The colors are dreadful and garish. They cladh with everything, AND YOU DON'T ALLOW ME TO FIX THEM!!! I want the old colors back. Or better yet, let us pick what ever bloody color we want.
Who ever came up with this scheme is obviously color blind, or hates your company.

Do remember that whatever the issue appear to you, also apply to the caller.
But sometimes it is the caller issue, not yours.
So not all problem are on your side, as this is 2-way.
If the caller, say use speaker icon which activate the speaker behind the phone, may cause any issue you have,as you may think it is your problem.
In the end, "2 hands can make clap sound".

Drag down twice to see all the notification available.
There is "VoLTE" activate this, this is the improved for both voice & data.
This VoLTE is for using both voice and data without interfering to each other.
Most phone while talking, and cannot be doing mobile data at the same time.
This is enhance voice quality. This means that the voice is in digital method.
If your S6 is on Android ver5 there is 2 arrows icon, each point different direction.
Ver6 the icon will show "Vo LTE".
As for the sometimes can hear clearly and sometimes not.
You need to place your phone "mic" closely to your mouth, as you can see there are people who cover both mouth & phone, for better & clear voice.
This apply to your speaker (not behind the phone) as the phone speaker is on top of the "Samsung" wording. Mean that this must be directly at the ear opening.
This is what i found out as i did have the same issue like yours before.
Reminder. Not to use the speaker icon (enable speaker behind the phone) when you are talking. This will affect both you and the caller which the speaker behind then to echo back to you when you are speaking thru the caller phone.
This is how i managed to resolve as this happen to me for years using phone.
All this also apply to the caller, as this is 2-ways; just like you see police when talking on their phone as it is 2-ways. Either you talk or the other party talk, by the button control.
Finally, if the caller uses any of this issue you encountered, you will also affected.
