Again, Indonesia market get those cheap and slow Exynos, not too slow though. Please, give us the SD801!!!
I heard that exynos version is slower than snapdrago. Then which model i should buy?

Why my s5 octacore have a scratch? Please tell me if this phone does't hv gorilla glass 3? I'm very disapointed about this...
when i saw the specs i compared it with the SD801 version i was dissapointed! then I went to wikipedia and I came to know that Mali GPU used in this is almost 2x more faster than that of Adreno 330! Adreno 330 has a clockspeed of 500 MHz(approx.) and Mali GPU in S5 has around ABOVE 930 MHz!! So Being a Gamer , EXYNOS 4 LIFE!!!
The"exynos 5 octa 5422"has 4cortex 2.1ghz and 4 cortex 1.5ghz....the cpu that have mentioned in the spec list isn't true(4*1.9&4*1.3)
I was waiting for s5 that will introduce same as other markets but I am very much depressed that s5 that is introduced in India is old octa core processor I would be very grateful if they had given same version that is introduced in European and other markets so I would buy a phone that supports 4G sorry Samsung you are discrimating to indian buyers.
This another bloated overprice junk from Samsung. This company seriously doubts the IQ level of Indians. We are supposed to pay more for than US & other countries & yet get a comparatively inferior version.
Like many previous reviews have pointed out this phone has Samsung Proprietary Exynos Octa processor, which is slower than Quad Core Snapdragon 801 in US, heats up pretty quickly, eats too much battery, does not support LTE, & worst of all there is no third party developer support because Samsung is too lazy to provide documentation & driver binaries for developers.
Build quality is same old plastic Samsung is known for, plus they have added flaps to make it waterproof but it is still not true waterproof phone like Sony Xperia Z, it can be called spill proof phone.
Camera has been improved a bit but no OIS like many other phones or any innovation like HTC One M8 with selective focus with dual camera lenses.
Size keeps getting bigger & bigger, wonder when this trend of making bigger phones with so high pixel density will stop.
They have added Fingerprint scanner which is too a gimmick rather than necessity to justify this price tag, also there is heart-rate monitor, don't who would be interested in this.
Their TouchWiz has been bloated for years & it surprises me with every generation they somehow manage to find even more bloat to add to already bloated OS. Anyone remember Magazine UI in latest Note series that even managed to lag on Snapdragons even Google was upset with that UI.
They have added NSA sponsored Samsung Knox, which may be useful for >1% of users but is irritating for rest of the 99% of users. It won't let you root your phone, if you like tweaking Android's internals then be prepared.
Overall this pricing is final nail in it's coffin, Galaxy S4 numbers were low compared to S3, now be prepared for even low numbers. If you need a better phone get iPhone 5s or Nexus 5 but if you need a better camera wait for HTC One M8 or Xperia Z2!
Well I do want the worth for my money, I was due for an upgrade from Note 2 to Note 3. I didn't upgrade because of the Exynos Issue. I waited and to my dismal S5 too turned out to be on the Exynos platform. Yes I wanted a future proof phone and hence considering a 4G phone but then you don't get everything in a phone. You have to compromise on things and in my case it was quality vs performance. I had only two options:-
HTC One M8
-No IP certification
-No finger print scanner
-No warranty in India ( not launched yet)
+No finger print scanner
+good processor ( 35116 on antutu)
+great battery life ( loving the ultra power saver mode)
-old outdated design
-can say plastic is not elegant but I don't mind as you win some you lose some
Well I went ahead with the S5 and don't regret the decision, its been 4 days and its an awesome device (love the camera, battery backup is lot better than my note 2 and yes its fast). The phone is light, fits well and I love the blue back..
bharat108, 16 Apr 2014this version(octacore) failed in india, poor sales in india.Yup, Indians are not fools to travel in the economy class while paying for the first class
Anonymous, 14 Apr 2014If your information is only based on benchmarks then that's very stupid and yes you dont have ... moreU are absolutely right. And to be honest both versions are almost Same. Both versions of S5 is surely futureproof :)
samsung exynos 5422 octa have a quad core max 2 ghz a-15 big and quad core max 1,6 ghz a-7 little???
[deleted post]I would consider waiting a month or two for the launch of the Sony Z2 . It comes with a snapdragon, an adreno 330 and 3 gb of Ram. Look at the local pricing and for a detailed review on this website. In the meantime the prices of S5 will also come down. There is a 15-20 percent cash back for Citibank card users. Look into it.
Whatever differences are there between the two versions of the s5 should not make any perceptible difference in 80 percent of the applications & games in the coming year but if you are a demanding user with a penchant for the latest HD games than the Adreno 330 based set will be the better bet for the future.
If you are paying top dollar ie a premium price than you should get the best product.
Lastly, IMO, as stated before, it also depends on how long you intend to use this product. If more than an year, say 2-3 years , than a 3 gb Sony with an adreno chipset will afford you a better experience.
if only for an year, than the S4 now between 28.5-30k is a good buy.
