M.k.s, 21 Feb 2016Hi everybody i need for an advisors if our android masters about the lolipop android for s5 do... moreHello,
I did the upgrade and battery life is a lot better. Though you can have some Wifi issues. Like on some business networks, it tends to crash the mobile data when disconnected from that Wifi.
But I would certainly advise you to take a proper backup and do a factory reset immediatly after the upgrade. All the blocked installations for the UAE eg. seems then lifted (since I've done it I suddenly have the car mode.... Not that it's so interesting...;); tried it and disengaged it...). One big change of the upgrade is the possibility to optimise your apps (found under battery). Then you can let them sleep deep and save power...
But don't optimise apps you want notifications from...
If you do the update is up to you...
I can tell you I'm eager to have the Marshmallow to finally have the permissions for my apps in my own hands (that should update arrive the coming month(s)...)...

TanyaRoa, 22 Sep 2015Sorry, spoke too soon. Problem is still there, When SIM 1 Data is ON and actively downloading/... moreAs with most dual sims i have owned, only one sim can really be active. Just forward your calls to the other sim when not reachable.
This is not a problem of the duos. This is actually a dual standby phone, not dual active... so when one sim is active, then the other one will be off.
QJK, 06 Oct 2015Dear S5 Duos users, I want to about this model. Is 4G active on both sims or only on 1 sim... moreOne sim for gsm/3g/4g and the other sim for gsm only. You can assign in the settings which sim to use for 3g/4g, so no need to switch simcards
Hayat, 09 Oct 2015hi im currently using sim1 for data access and sim2 for calls/sms however when my mobile data ... moreOn calls, when you are using either of the sims, the other sim will be deactivated during the call. Similarly, When data is active on one sim, then the other sim is inactive. This phone is dual standby, not really dual active. However, when you are in (for example) sim one, using data, you can still make a call on sim two, and this will automatically disable sim 1 (data). So in order to receive calls on sim 2, forward the calls of sim 2 to sim 1 when not reachable, then you wont miss a call anymore. Thats actually how the button "dual sim active" works on the duos. But beware, some networks charge for call forwarding. Please note too that when data is "on", there are times you can still receive calls on sim 2, the reason for that is, when no data is being downloaded on sim1, then sim one is not active, therefore, its on dual standby. On messages, they will only come in when both sims are on standby, because there is no forwarding/divert for messages. I myself have this configuration, Sim 1 for data (prepaid) and sim 2 for calls ànd text (POSTPAID). Same mobile network, so no forwarding charges.
Hope this helps ☺

s5 d user, 26 Jan 2016Hello everybody
I wabt your advise about upgrading to lollipop since i did not upgrade my p... more
I've also upgraded to lollipop a couple of months ago, and it's OK for me, on standby it seems that the battery consumption is a bit less than it used to be with kitkat. I can also report that the integration of the stock messaging app with AndroidWear as dual sim is fine now (it wasn't for kitkat) and also the fingerprint unlock works also in case of enterprise exchange policy.
s5 d user, 26 Jan 2016Hello everybody
I wabt your advise about upgrading to lollipop since i did not upgrade my p... morehi dude,
you can freely update to lollipop. since im using it for 6 months and my phone is smooth and not found any lag on battery drain till now.
never look for others review. just go for it.
i suggest a full factory reset through recovery mode once update is completed. this will work and you'll love lollipop.
I wabt your advise about upgrading to lollipop since i did not upgrade my phone ever (bought it 1 year ago)
Is it better to upgrade or i will fase so many annoying issues more? What abiut battery drain on lollipop? Is it more or less than kitkat?
Thank you all
