Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo receives Android 7.0 Nougat update

Samsung Android Firmware Updates

While Google is busy releasing Android 8.0 Oreo to its supported devices, Samsung keeps on outing Android 7.0 Nougat updates for its smartphones. The latest model to be graced with such a feat is the Galaxy S5 Neo, a handset released exactly two years ago. That makes this certainly the last big software update it will ever see - considering its age, but also the fact that it launched running Lollipop and was then upgraded to Marshmallow too.

The Galaxy S5 Neo was produced in two versions, one for Europe and one for Canada. It's the latter (with the model number G903W) that is currently getting a taste of Nougat. The rollout is fully under way, but as usual it might take a few days for it to reach all the units out there. Once you apply the update, your phone will be on firmware version G903WVLU1CQH4.

We're hoping that the other S5 Neo variant (with the model number G903F) won't be forgotten by Samsung either, and it will get this new software too at some point in the near future. The S5 Neo was recently spotted in a benchmark's online database running Nougat, but even so the Korean company could have chosen not to release the new version. Thankfully though it did.

I did the update 2 weeks ago now my phone gets so hot that I'm afraid it's going to burn me after 5 min of use. Is there an issue with the update as I never had a problem before.
