bob , 05 Mar 2015in day to day usage there is a big diference then this tests And so protocols are needed to get a general idea of a device.
Because everyone has his/her ways, habits, apps, settings, network carrier, environment etc.. So what is true for somebody won't be for another.
Personaly, i don't use note series but as far as i know i've never obtained a better battery life on any smartphones i've owned than with my galaxy S5.
I don't know anyone close enough to me who got an iphone 6+ to compare in real life.
And just like you, not counting non-smartphones, but i'm close to 20 or 25 smartphones i have/owned (currently i have 8 left here).
Lack of a memory card slot may make this long awaited buy a no go for me.
m86k, 05 Mar 2015lol. Looks like someone doesn't believe in rational methods. in day to day usage there is a big diference then this tests

I don't care that you t... moreit is simple like thet used and you will see the diference in the camera in the battery in the speed , thet is important not the stuped specs ,the big diference in the samsung was removable batery and Mikro sd card ...now what .I dont tel you what to by apple or samsung or htc i tell you the reality how it is .i bether by a note 4 then this s6 , whit big battery 3220 mah 2.7 SNAPDRAGON (not that exinos procesor ) the same 16 mp camera and 3 gb ram and 5.7 (5.. ppi)and s pen and removable battery , do you know thet XIAOMI have maybe the BEST android phones then all others brends .you only have used samsung i gues you don know that . :)

I don't care that you think the iPhone6+ battery life is better than the S5. It's simply not, though it's damn close. And me using an iPhone would simply solidify my belief that its battery life is very similar to other flagship phones. I'm sure you don't think the Note 4 can take better pictures than the iPhone6+ either. I also bet you think your iPhone charges faster if you use an iPad charger.
Just look at this and stop being dumb please:
JohnHolmes, 05 Mar 2015Sigh...why do I feed the bob-troll? As far as battery life goes, it's: Note 3 < iPhone6... moreI have tested s 4 s 5 and note 3 and iphone 6 plus .first use the iphone end the other and then coment about thet ,I have used more then 30 smartphones samsung ,apple , htc and i can tell thet iphone 6 plus have the best battery ,if you ever used you will know this
I always relate Samsung's Galaxy S - Note relation to Intel's Tick-Tock Strategy, Release New Flagship with Galaxy S and perfect it over the year with Note.
I really dislike how you changed the charging port from the s5 and the fact that the battery is no longer removable
Nothing special..runs android..small battery if you look screens ppi. waste..and camera isnt that good..too expensive for almost no upgrade..moving to WP.
blizzakward, 05 Mar 2015If I'm not only using a note 3, I would buy this phone over s5. Will wait on note 5. For sure,... moreNote 5 will surely be epic according to what they've thrown in S6's.
And with LG preparing also their premium line, Samsung is surely revising its Note 5 plans to be even better.
If I'm not only using a note 3, I would buy this phone over s5. Will wait on note 5. For sure, there will be alot of similarities.

m86k, 05 Mar 2015Did you notice the blog entry the other day about Archos and its "Fusion" system ?? ... moreOh nice, no I hadn't seen that article. It seems crazy that Samsung or Google hasn't implemented something similar. We shouldn't have to use FolderMount to accomplish something that should have plenty of development resources put into it at Google and Samsung. I think Google just wants to eliminate the extSD altogether, so why bend over backwards to make it work better. Maybe they make apps fail to move OBB files on purpose, haha!

I too noticed maybe 3 updates in total since i got it on release day here. Couldn't get any 32gb, they never existed here in stores (France).
That's a good idea for rooting, i'll wait for the lollipop update first to see what's new about it, else i will root and use your solution. Better write it down now :)
JohnHolmes, 05 Mar 2015Ya it definitely requires root access. Oh ya, Link2SD, that is the one that didn't work with A... moreDid you notice the blog entry the other day about Archos and its "Fusion" system ??
This should be by default in Android devices. Basically this merges both internal and external storage into 1 single memory storage for your apps.
With a bit of tweaking from Google or a smart manufacturer like Samsung this could be really efficient, like adding a microsd speed check before validating that option (too many people buy crap/slow/fake microsd card) and that would solve all those problems :
m86k, 05 Mar 2015Yeah i see that. You know your ways :)

But really, my wife has a Note 10.1 2014 still and it seems like it didn't get very many updates at all. The only one she noticed was the KitKat one. If I were you, I'd root it and probably just stick with the stock ROM. The custom ROMs I tried were not really a big change from stock, but maybe there are some better ones now.
I had the 32GB model so I didn't REALLY need to use FolderMount, but I was using it on my 16GB S4 at the time so I just mirrored the same config to save space.
So it's just you and me conversing on here now. Feels like we hijacked the comments section.

I'm always looking for an options menu which don't exist and same for tapping, i have to try several times so i just tell her, do this and tap that :D
