But really, my wife has a Note 10.1 2014 still and it seems like it didn't get very many updates at all. The only one she noticed was the KitKat one. If I were you, I'd root it and probably just stick with the stock ROM. The custom ROMs I tried were not really a big change from stock, but maybe there are some better ones now.
I had the 32GB model so I didn't REALLY need to use FolderMount, but I was using it on my 16GB S4 at the time so I just mirrored the same config to save space.
So it's just you and me conversing on here now. Feels like we hijacked the comments section.

I'm always looking for an options menu which don't exist and same for tapping, i have to try several times so i just tell her, do this and tap that :D
m86k, 05 Mar 2015Does this app require root ?
Because i was studying several like that back in the time bu... moreYa it definitely requires root access. Oh ya, Link2SD, that is the one that didn't work with Android 4.1 when I was trying it. Sadly, NTFS-mount wouldn't work in 4.1 either, so I couldn't plug my 2TB USB3.0 drive into my OTG adapter anymore :(
I think Android should be able to handle move-to-sd better. It's pretty sad that it's gone backwards in functionality since Android 2.X.
JohnHolmes, 05 Mar 2015Haha thanks. Oh ya I forgot about Kies. I only installed that for the USB debugging drivers I ... moreYeah i see that. You know your ways :)
I haven't rooted my 10.1 2014 because i wanted to get the updates timely from Samsung at the beginning. That too low internal memory killed it as a gaming device in my opinion whatever people are saying for microsd.
I've drooled several times over ipad devices due to their big internal storage and many games exclusive or coming out first.. No need to be "religious" to see that.
PS: Kies got quite mature over the years since that time. It works quite well now.
m86k, 05 Mar 2015I do understand but i'm more open minded as all my posts suggest it. I know many people w... moreAnd for me, adapting to Android for the first time felt easier and more natural than adapting to iOS for the first time, though they are both ridiculously easy. iOS frustrated me with the lack of options in apps, lack of a back button when you're supposed to know about pinch-to-close or to touch off of the sub-window...just the basic over-simplification of it all was detrimental to me. And I hate how picky iOS is with taps. Like, if you move your finger 2 pixels to the side when u tap something, it doesn't count as a tap. I'm not that sloppy of a tapper, but I can't tell you how many times I've gone to slide a little setting-slider or tap something in iOS and it didn't like my tap. Android is much more realistic and user-friendly with tap-forgiveness or tap-threshold, whatever you wanna call it, even if it does have slower touch response-time.
JohnHolmes, 05 Mar 2015Don't you hate the big fail that devs like Gameloft do with their file system?
There is a s... moreDoes this app require root ?
Because i was studying several like that back in the time but they had all their fair share of problems so i gave up like Link2sd and don't remember what.
But that's totally the idea, without a big internal storage on a beast tablet/phone you can't have (real) fun. Or same 2-3 games installed until you finish them or get bored of them (not talking about shabby games for casual people).
Nova 3, Modern Combat Series, GTA3 and Chinatown Wars, Asphalt7 & 8, Dungeon Hunter 3/4 just to name a few i would have enjoyed installed in same time.
This phone looks just like the iPhone 6, of course leave it to samsucks to copy yet another apple design or idea.. I'm not a hater I like both but iOS is still better and more intuitive. Even with apples restrictions, and if they removed them iOS would blow any android device out of the water any day. You guys think apple people are bad with being brand wh**** but I've never seen anyone as bad as a Samsung brand wh****, those people are the absolute worse!!! And I work at cell phone retailer and trust me I deal with both types everyday.
m86k, 05 Mar 2015Someone smart since a few pages : JohnHolmes :) I do that too. Auto backup using sprite bac... moreHaha thanks. Oh ya I forgot about Kies. I only installed that for the USB debugging drivers I think, when I had an S4 and Note 10.1" 2014 (sold both and got LG G2 and Air 2). All 4 of these devices were rooted and rommed on the day of purchase, except the Note which had no roms yet so it was only rooted for a couple months. You could say I'm not the typical user.
m86k, 05 Mar 2015That's a bad example Michael :)
This is the reason why i stopped gaming on my galaxy phones... moreDon't you hate the big fail that devs like Gameloft do with their file system?
There is a solution, though I haven't tried it since Jellybean on my Note 10.1 (2014) about 8 months ago. It's called FolderMount (there is another one too but FolderMount was better than the rest when I was using it). You basically choose what folder you want to spoof (dynamic link?) and it mounts a folder on your SDcard. So I set up the OBB folder and basically all the data that the standard "move to SD card" fails to do is in OBB so it is located on the SD card. It didn't hurt load time that much, though I did have a 35mb/sec mem card, which is decently fast. After that, I had like 8 Gameloft games installed that occupied over 10GB in my redicted OBB folder, and other companies' games as well taking up another 10GB+. I think there is another folder that is helpful to redirect, too, like the amazon appstore cache and google music cache or something like that, oh ya and my downloads folder since I would download roms and large files at times. It was mainly all about that OBB folder though. Stupid app devs...don't they know there are tons of poor souls with 16GB device that only have 9GB free with zero apps installed other than the stock ones?
Someone smart since a few pages : JohnHolmes :)
I do that too. Auto backup using sprite backup:
Contact/Sms/MMS/Call logs and have enabled auto-upload for photos on dropbox (got 53gb).
[ Despite i have microsd. ]
I have several accounts on others like box (50 too i think) and onedrive (115gb). So when i'm home and bored, sometimes i just do some sorting and archiving on them and on an external hard drive.
Even for a lazy/not tecchy person with low data plan, Kies offers good and easy synching/backuping options.
Better be safe than sorry.
cata, 05 Mar 2015No fm but is available in playstore as an aplication to download and install but having no sd ... moreYeah, people that want to protect from losing data from a crash can do it easily without a mem card if they want. Like me for instance. I have a free 56GB drop box that pictures, videos, and any app-changes (app updates or app data like local save games) gets sync'd to via Titanium once a week in the middle of the night if the phone is charging at the time. It also covers personal data like SMS/MMS/Call Log and other items that Android doesn't sync with your gmail account automatically. Usually the scheduled backup doesn't have to upload much, but I can restore any app or game or whatever data I want from various points in time if needed, and of course pics and videos are sync'd to not only DropBox but also Google Photos and Wastebook (Facebook). You could do it with the basic 5GB free DropBox too if you don't take too many videos and pictures.
I am a Verizon LG G2 user, so I am ready for the S6 since I already have no microSD nor removable battery, plus I have two Qi wireless chargers that will work well for slow charging the S6 at night and at work. I can't wait for a gold S6 Edge 64GB to match my gold 64GB iPad Air 2. To quote Gold Member "I love gooooooold. The look of it, the taste of it, the smell of it, the texture..."
bob, 04 Mar 2015a compare with note 3 who battery is 3200 amp !!! note 3 4-5 h non stop on wifi the iphone 6 ... moreSigh...why do I feed the bob-troll?
As far as battery life goes, it's:
Note 3 < iPhone6+ < Galaxy S5 < Note 4
They are all pretty close actually, but this is from fairly accurate testing, not a made up "how it feels" opinion that "bob" likes to pull outta thin air.
dexter, 04 Mar 2015That's because the iPhone 6 plus is a bigger phone with a bigger battery. Compare the 6 Plus w... morePlus the S5 beats the iPhone6+ in battery tests, though it's a close battle. The batteries are nearly the same, 2800 vs 2915, screens are both 1080p, and battery life nearly the same. They both beat the Note 3 barely and the Note 4 beats both of them barely. This is all based on GSMArena's battery endurance tests, which I trust for the most part.
Nikolain, 04 Mar 2015About 40% of A8 are still produced by Samsung also TSMC lost to Samsung for its 14nm Node that... moreWell iFixIt's teardown of an iPhone6 clearly shows Elpida memory, so maybe they made it for some of the iPhone6's.
I didn't realize Samsung made that many of the A8/A8X chips, interesting. I thought it was going to be all TSMC.
Samsung beat people to the punch for their semi-fake 14nm, and it looks like the A9 will be made by Samsung. And the LPDDR4 lead that they have is going to be good for them, too. Man Samsung is huge. I guess Apple has no choice but to use Samsung parts, lol!
bob, 04 Mar 2015i hawe samsung s5 and iphone 6 plus ,the 6 plus hawe a two thimes more juice then s 5 it last ... moreSorry Bob, wrong again. Your personal experience does not disprove the fairly scientific battery life tests on sites like GSMArena where the S5 does in fact outlast the iPhone6+, though it's really close actually (S5 = 83h rating, 6+ = 79h rating). I'm pretty sure the S6 will have nearly as good battery life as both the S5 and iPhone6+, probably just a hair less. Just go back to your iPhone6+ that you think lasts twice as long as your S5...
I don't like the way Samsung is ruining it's prestige by imitating apple and making devices with limited features.
It's a very stupid strategy to reduce your capability to become like someone who is tracking you...
Why someone should do that?
