Has Samsung done anything to improve the build quality really except for glass back. One the first users of S4. The screen breaks at the drop of a pin. The plastic edges chrome finish is the worse quality. It peels with in 2-3 months, and the company does not take responsibility for the same. Features one of the best, build quality one of the worst in S4
loubielou, 03 Mar 2015Why?did we need a Glass Back on the Galaxy S6,as you buy cases for your phones and they always... moreHmmm ?
1st part you make sense, but 2nd part, it looks like you never owned a smartphone?
Many people use their phone without any protection.
Many others with full leather or silicon or hybrid plastic case with or without window(s).
Many other with just a bumper.
Many other with just a back cover (there are totally transparent ones).
And there are also tempered glass to cover your screen to add protection.
So it's not like you don't have any choice to custom-protect a phone nowadays depending on what you want to be seen or not.
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2015Not waterproof!!?? I love that feature! I also prefer to be able to change my battery. The 3.0... moreWaterproof was a nice feature that people said to be gimmick back in time...
Personally, the only time when the feature would have been useful was when i took photos under snowy and rainy weather.. I don't shower with my phone, and on the beach, it stays in the car or in the sand on my towel with someone next to it.
Don't forget even if it's glass on the back, it's still gorilla glass 4, and i will add a thin bumper or a transparent back cover to protect it and not ruin the design.
Why?did we need a Glass Back on the Galaxy S6,as you buy cases for your phones and they always Clip on from the Back,so no one will see the Glass Back All the Time,as theres only Bumper Cases that Protect the Rim of the Phone, but the Front Screen can be easily Broken using Bumper Cases,Samsung just have the Apple phones on there Mind,When they Should be thinking about other Android Phones, will Samsung do the same with the Note 5?then they will be in Big Trouble
mas39, 03 Mar 2015I don't think you realise what you are saying, it's 2015 so no need for sd card, does that mak... moreThen just get an otg cable and a 512 gig usb. This phone isnt made for you, the general public doesnt need an sd card with the storages available on s6. You want to watch movies? Get a computer, 1 terabyte shouldbe enough. Want to take pictures? Just transfer the damn photos to your pc, s6's got usb 3.0, if thats not fast enough i dont know what is. Sd card is slow and is outdated. I don't see bad sales of iphones when it doesnt have an sd card slot, people don't need it, it's a want.
Not waterproof!!?? I love that feature! I also prefer to be able to change my battery. The 3.0 charger was nice too. Okay I do like the metal better but what about the back glass?? It's gonna crack too easy! Sorry samsung but I think I'll stay with s5 unless there's improvement.
currently using s5 16gb internal memory nd jst a 4gb sdcard with it i dnt think so that removing a sdcard slot is a big issue 64gb version would be enough. If anyone deeds a big storage then he or shr can go 128gb
This thing is used to be the best smartphone in 2015. Metal thingy, more luxurious shapes, and something that people have been waiting for : non-removable battery. But lack of FM Radio (since the S4) and the microSD slot is something. Nuh uh, I'll take A5 rather than this.
no SD and no removable battery :'( ewwwh :'( okay no need radio :/ but SD card :/ :&
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2015Yes you are right, another disappoint from SAMSUNG for it's Galaxy loversYes, some people don't need that heavy processor. But some people want. It depends on consumers.
AnonD-351339, 03 Mar 2015I see for 3 days after s6 launch.and you crying for removable battery and sd card.it.s 2015 ev... moreI don't think you realise what you are saying, it's 2015 so no need for sd card, does that make sense ? Of course you need an sd card, games are now going to go over the 1gb mark, some will eventually pass 2gb, you have photo's and videos which will need to be moved to the sd card especially 4k video, I have already filled my 128gb sd card and I need alot more, it is so silly for people in this era to question why we need an sd card, it's obvious. Personally I can''t wait for the 200gb sd card to be released and I shall be the first to purchase one!
Knopfler, 03 Mar 2015Guys we all know that we bought samsung products only and only for:
1- The acces to change t... moreI disagree mostly for 3 and 4.
Personnaly, i bought Galaxy S series because of features, UI (i like touchwizz, it's well thought) and yes design.
I had to use SD cards (got tons of them) because of low internal space on all previous models, even on my tablet. But now if i can go with a 64/128gb one, i won't mind dropping my sdcards. And with that freaky storage speed, yum.
Removable battery, i never cared about it, as i said elsewhere, the only time i was removing battery, was while flashing custom roms or having to swap microsd/sim cards. If i ran out of juice, well too bad, i would just look for a charger, that's it. But now power banks exist in all sort of sizes.
For design, S4 was beautiful, far more than S5. But S6 looks great again.
So for all those reasons, S6 definitely worths its hype.
Even google VP recognized it.
Nothing is special in this phone,
There is no need of such heavy processor, it will just help to DRAIN the battery faster.
There are much better brands in the market like SONY, HTC, APPLE etc.
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2015head phone jacks at the bottom? seriously? There's probably reasons to that :
Maybe it's for some future dock / Hifi stereo etc...
Anyway, it's not a big deal, if the phone is in your pocket, you just pull it out and can reach directly your ear without extra rotation.
Or if you are using the phone for texting/browsing, you don't have your wire hanging in front of you or no need to put on side.
Thanks fo the good inovation. But have you failed to create solar charged display or case to increse power duration?
