Anonymous, 04 Mar 2015Anyone who has a S3 mini should not comment about the s6LOL
For people complaining about the lack of an SD card slot.
They need to have some market segmentation.
The Note Edge half of the missing features people are complaining about.
Due to the nature of an added Micro SD card becoming default store for pictures and videos, filming at 4k becomes a pretty big issue.
Allowing users to put their own cards in, being from a plethora of companies, rated at a range of speeds.. it all adds up to issues.
Giving a large amount of internal storage is in part the solution.
Also, added cards suck juice.
This phone looks like it will be a stamina king!
They have nailed this screen tech, where the Note 4 and Note Edge have shown that crazy high resolution hasn't been a massive battery drain (but can allow OLED to do ridiculous brightness, formerly its one weakness).
If this has less pixels than the Note Edge, all the better for it, and it seemed it was software sorting out the side display as a seperate monitor that caused serious battery discrepencies for Note 4 vs Note Edge.
This has a standard screen resolution. Should be much easier to sort out.
The Mali graphics chip can sip power.
Hopefully good aerial setup will keep its power effective,.. lollipop should help it become a bit more power efficient as well, certainly more and more as apps are written for ART runtime, yes?
Qi charging can lead to a little bit of power leakage, but on the whole this phone should show some crazy standby times!
A non removable battery, so long as looked after (not left in hot cars all day, and recharged, ideally around the 20% mark, should last for years before it loses a noticable amount of charge anyway.
3DS and Vitas have non removable batteries and are designed for many years of usage,.. most people rotate their phones on to a relative after two years anyhow..
There is no need for 64bit.. it doesn't bring anything meaningful to the table in terms of usability.
Most phones nowadays have more power than we need them to have. We don't need 3GB of ram, and Android just caches stuff to fill up 2GB to make things zippier for when we do choose to use them.
The Note Edge will remain the choice for people NEEDING removable parts at a 'user' level, whilst offering a few extra features. Samsung are playing with their market segmentation.. the only thing I see as them doing wrong with this phone was removing Ingress Protection. Once we users have a feature, we generally don't like giving it up. This may lead to some confusion as to what the S line represents, if not an amalgamation of the best tech in the tiniest body.
i would strongly advise making this s6 with removable batterty or u r limiting this phone to the levels of the apple phones and samsung is a far better level them that.
The Best Features
1. 2nd Generation Fingerprint scanner is very good like the scanner in Iphone 5,6 and 6+.
2. 3GB RAM
3. The same camera of the Galaxy Note 4 is used in this phone which was regarded the best camera experience by many people.
4. 3.5mm jack placed on the bottom like the the Iphone.
5. Has Samsung's own chipset that is Exynos 7420 which is more efficient and faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810.
6. Has an upgraded resolution
7. Very good metal finish at the back instead of the band-aid like rubber finish
The Worst Features
1. Has a small battery ( 2600mAH )
2. Has 2K dislpay which will suck the battery very fast
3. Not IP58 or IP568 certified that is it is not waterproof
4. No MicroSD slot
5. Not Removable Battery

Samsung could release any shape of phone, they would be bashed at.
Now, the only thing that will calm those waves of trolls/crabs/haters will be the first weeks of sales of S6 when the news will keep coming about its success. We will see such a turnover here in comments section.

I think these dimwits commenting will be happy & satisfied with a triangular shaped sammy eh? Then they can make noise how the hell they will fit them into their pockets. Lol

Too bad that it's so hard to get serious conversations over here and that we have to discuss same low debates over and over.
A friend asked me, so you are going to buy a S6?
I said, yes the Edge version. Did you see the announcement?
He said, no, only prices but damn you are such a fanboy.
I only said, well, look at phone videos and come again or come to see it next month at home.
(he owns a Nexus 4) Some people would just talk for trashing without even getting themselves informed.
Anon, 04 Mar 2015people are dumb, complaining about radio lolLol. Radio is still a point of complaint several years after the S3? Amazing.

It's an industry, it's not a school, so everything is permitted to sell the most, what many people don't get here. I don't care who copied what from who, as long as it gets the job perfectly done. Just like cars or TV.
I agree Edge is unique and like Savor is saying, Samsung is bringing the future right next month despite all those narrow minded people asking for a removable battery+radio FM+microSD card+IP67+premium build+lower price.
As i said on S6 page, guess what? Samsung got probably fed up with of all those people being cheap and not buying a costly R&D product like they wanted, so now they are aiming at higher classes : apple users.
Simplicity, design, speed, premium build for S6.
SURESH, 04 Mar 2015non removable battery?if battery problem arises then what can you do? simply buy another galax... moreThey made it non-removable because they change their battery specification as well. I have an aunt in usa who had the edge series and according to her it has more battery life span compare to apple
Confirmed prices in Norway for Edge 128 GB:
1423,- US Dollars
928,- British pounds( GBP )
I like those edges, and for those who don't there's a regular S6. They are truly innovative. And I personally don't use SD cards at all on my 8GB S3 Mini, I find 50GB on Dropbox an 15GB on Google Drive enough. Also I never had a problem with my battery and I don't replace it. For this year I was thinking to change my phone and get an M9 or G4, and I hated TouchWiz but this phone is great. Does anyone know is there an IR blaster on S6 Edge?

manufacturer. They make tons of money and they take chances, and some things work where others don't. Samsung is a true visionary of a company, and they aren't afraid to put their money on the line to try out new ideas. They probably spend more money in a month on R&D than Apple does in a year, because they are true innovators, never stopping trying out new things, even having the balls to put their ideas in actual products instead of applying for patents, then suing other companies that actually build things. People don't realize that without Samsung Mobile, the iPhone would still be 3.5 inches and running on 3G because "no one really needs high speed data or a bigger screen".
Other than TouchID which wasn't the first fingerprint scanner on a phone btw thanks to Motorola Atrix, I don't think Apple has really innovated in hardware since 2007. The newer features is based on proprietary software and generally rehashed of older ideas. AirDrop is a copycat of Android Beam and iMessages is a copycat of BBM. Samsung was forward-thinking with the Note 1 and could be forward-thinking with the S6 edge.
It is thinking outside the box and getting out of your own comfort zone instead of playing it safe, rehashing old features, calling them new, and then suing others who actually take more chances than they do. We would still be stuck with toy-like sized phones made for kids if it weren't for those Hummer phones Steve Jobs kept dissing about. But wait when iPhones have their own three-sided display supplied by Sharp or LG... Revolutionary. Magical. Forward-thinking. Best iPhone they ever made. Cha-ching! More money in the bank refining an older idea from a rival company. Apple will refine it but it is like tracing a drawing or paraphrasing an original idea.
