A quick question if anyone can help?
does anyone know if Doze is active in the S7 version of marshmallow?
I ask as its been confirmed that Samsung has disabled the adoptable storage feature with the S7, am just wondering what else they may have taken out or if they have dropped doze in favour of their own power management solutions.
I know the S7 has bigger battery than the S6, but as someone who wasn't happy at all with the S6 battery performance, I would feel much better if Samsung have decided to leave doze intact in addition to its own power management features on the S7.
This is going to be a very good phone this S7, better than Sony can manage with the X Performance.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2016Interesting, SD card will not be internal, main advantage of Android 6 Marshmallow. But this ... moreI believe you are referring to Samsung not allowing Adoptable Storage with SD cards on the Galaxy S7. You do realize that adopted cards are encrypted to be used with only the phone they are in, right? This would limit many unaware consumers to not having access to their data if they try to pull the card out and place it in another device (phone, computer, tablet, digital photo frame).
Also, another potential issue with adoptable storage is the performance hit that some users may get when using a low read/write SD card; internal storage is MUCH faster. I doubt every consumer looking into this phone will know to seek out the best performing SD card to mitigate the performance hit. Typically, consumers will seek what fits their budget; if this means purchasing a $35 off-brand 128GB card vs a $60-80 high performance 64GB card, they will often save the money and choose what they feel is better bang for their buck. This is where I feel Samsung is simply standing off to watch and see how well things work out. We may see an update for the firmware that will change this situation. As of now, I think it's a smart choice, Android M is still new and not many end-users are aware of adoptable storage in the first place.
Anonymous, 25 Feb 2016usd 799 for this and same spec with Mi5 for just only $305..and also loss to Antitu benchmark.... moreThis phone is USD $669 to my knowledge, not USD $799. It is expensive--yes. However, I think this price is simply reflective of flagship phone prices in the west. The Mi5 is still very recent and Xiaomi hasn't secured an approach into the US market yet. Don't assume that the cheap price tag of the Chinese phone will follow into the US, as there are added costs that will bring the phone's price higher for the west market; examples of these are intellectual property costs and the added marketing costs (not many consumers will be aware of who/what Xiaomi is).

OnlyPeople with no brain will buy this fone..
Why the battery just stuck on 3000mAh? If samsung doubled the battery, i would consider to use it. And people doesn't think to use the phone with powerbank.
Samsung will continue to lose market share no matter what they do... They are getting to the point where they dont know what to do anymore...
Interesting, SD card will not be internal, main advantage of Android 6 Marshmallow. But this has purposely not activated. So 50% apps wud not be transferable, merely used to transfers as pen drive. Big question to ask, mostly customers are unaware off.
This should have been s6. Its the natural successor of s5. No wonder s6 didn't sell that well they just had 2 go back 2 memory card slot, dual sim n bigger battery. Think i'll get one.
