sd card is a choice. if you dont want to store to it dont but its a very good option to have
Anonymous, 11 Feb 2016S7 should bring the faith back which was lost in s4 s5 s6sorry there was no faith lost all these models did very well.
S5 is a water proof phone with everything one needs
[deleted post]They removed it also because of the amount of users that used shitty sd cards was huge in the previous versions, making them blaming the phones instead of the cards. It was a defensive move... Of course I would prefer to have a sd slot, because I know what type of card to use with it. But if there isn't a way to put a sd card I can still buy the 64gb or 128gb version of 32 is not enough. But it's samsung policy to ear the clients, so I would not be surprised if they would make a sd slot again on the next device
The usefulness of SD cards I think is primarily around the recovery of data in the event of a damaged device! If your phone is damaged, either physically or by water, there's a really good chance the micro SD card will have survived! Also, since Google Play Music can store to that location, it's an easy way to add a heap of music without paying a huge premium for fast storage when the simplest form will suffice nicely... but yes, aside from those (important) things, not much else use for those cards. I passed on the S6 due to the lack of inclusion for above reasons.
The advantage of having a removed micro SD card is you save all your info and pics on it ect and if the phone is ever damangr or doesn't turn on any more you can recover your pics and info at least.
It's old technology but its a worth while one
Why do you want an SD card that cannot read nor write data as fast as your internal storage. dammit people you make me sick, would you want your pictures to take longer to load than the gallery itself.... think about it you creatures, just be grateful the 64GB S7 will be cheaper than an iphone 6S 16GB
Wedge75, 11 Feb 2016Bring back MicroSD support !!!SD cards are Outdated and Old Technology in 2016 onwards...
Anonymous, 10 Feb 2016Samsung isn't going to read this you know10 million people a day visit gsmarena.... i am pretty sure all companies come here to see the opinion of their new phones and those being brought out by the opposition.
I think it's gr8 to have the ability again to have expandable memory, made the phones so damned expensive otherwise. Any idea when we'll know what colour options there'll be?
Seriously?, 10 Feb 2016Seriously? we are still addicted with old technology and we need an SD card while we have clo... moreHere I am connected wirelessly to my portable external hard disk. No biggy. These people just don't habe enough grey matter in their brain to adapt with new technology as quickly as possible. Keep postponing to buy that new shiny bling bling every year and saying, "Hey, I will just wait for next year model". Blah. You will be the most outdated person on Earth. Best regard from fast-adopters.
The latest A series have card but why is that this flagship doesnt? lol
After having iPhones for years I recently made the switch to a Note 3 (Samsung) and even more recently to the S6 Edge, I can now safely say that I would never return to a iPhone as I find them far to restricting... At least Samsung let you access all the features of the phone and not bring out something new with updates (i.e. Bluetooth on iPhone).
I work in a Tesco phone store and I cannot wait till we receive the S7 and get to sample it for ourselves
Anonymous, 08 Feb 2016S5 still has card slot. I buy Note 4 when Note 5 will release in just a few days because Note ... morei cant wait to see and use s7 .am a sumsung fan any samsung that is release i always try it,,,its the best for me....keep up the good work samsung please do s8 flat and s8 edge soon ,,,cause s7 has edge as per rumours..i want to be the first buyer and first user of s7 edge,,,,ayobaness
In South Africa the Samsung Galaxy S7 is covered by Samsung ADH Premium, which entitles the original owner of the device with 1 Free Screen Repair within the 1st 12 month of purchase and the option to get a Swap (Lender) phone while the device is in repair.
Still SD slot is missing, screen size is still same as before, battery must be removable. all in all if trying to compete with IPhone its sure shot failure............. Boooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! samsung sucks
I sold my S6 because there was no SD expansion capability and loads of users complained about the lack of the slot... so they go and leave it out again!... ok the base model starts at 32GB which is not good enough as you will most likely only get access to about 24GB which will not take long to fill up with 2k video which takes a lot of room. As for uploading to the cloud try doing that on holiday when data tariffs cost a fortune. Poor phone!
