A smartphone is most of all a computer, portable for that matter. I don't buy a smartphone
for being a phone, there are so many superior alternatives for this job.(mainly the "dumbphones"...)
So it has to have the best battery life possible. Reducing battery size to make it thinner and cooler, is not wise, because it reduces portability. In general one expects to see an increase of battery life, still, for mobile devices. Because being mobile means less dependence from the wall socket. Thinness is never a substitute for this kind of independence. I hate myself for pointing out self-evident things, but it seems I must.
To make it clumsy accepting expandable storage , reduces portability , which is not wise.
One SD slot is not enough already, absence of even one is tragic.
To make it impossible to effectively communicate with the bulk of existing peripherals(such as big conventional monitors and screens as well as keyboards and mouses) reduces flexibility.
I may want to enjoy my smartphone from the coziness of an office, on a nearby screen when available. How can anyone fail to understand that universal connectivity is essential for adopting new paradigms?
Rather adopting obscure communication protocols, allegedly in the name of progress, does not convince anyone.
And of course a capable cpu is very welcome, but how can anyone enjoy it, if it can't be connected to large screens and decent handling peripherals? Of course looking good is welcome but not at the cost of functionality and durability.
Dear Samsung, I was an ardent fan of your S series flagships right from S Captive handset until S5.
You keep on increasing the screen size for the S series handsets every year. In S6 you forgot to retain removable battery & SD card slot. You introduced Galaxy Alpha two years back to compete with Apple in the screen size 4.7", where is the follow up model on that. I thought it was a nice handset, but you did not price it correctly during launch. Kindly do not compete with Apple only on the price. Try to introduce faster warranty replacement service (like Apple, because that is their secret of success). At launch your flagship prices sky rockets and after couple of months it takes a deep dive and hits the ground. Why cant you fix a steady price?
Too many flagships are not good for your portfolio. S series should be between 4.8" screen size (to compete with Apple). S Edge series can be 5.2" screen size ( to be unique), Finally Note series can be 5.7" screen size (to be unique). Please do not go in the direction of Nokia and Blackberry.
To all the smartphone makers: Your customer base is increasing day by day and demand increases day by day. Why don't you innovate your mfg processing to reduce cost and pass those advantages to customer by reducing the initial price of the handset, because for the past 5 years, you use many redundant processes for manufacturing.
I was expecting that Apple should provide 64 gb as the base price, but still they are sticking with 16gb as the base price.
WDDW, 03 Feb 2016Wwhy can't we have the new design with all those features? best of both worlds! True, we are all waiting for a new radical design. The slab design is past its best ,maybe Nokia will reign again with its quirky Android smartfone designs.
Roddix, 04 Feb 2016This may comes with shatterproof,Expandable memory + FM radio ... Sammy rules hi bro, please give me a link about those you mentioned. if it has sd card support + radio and shutter proof it could be one of my choice.every year I've decided between htc OR Samsung and i hate lg or sony.
What do you guys think (I know it has not come out), considering the given features, is S7 a worthy upgrade over S6 ?
This may comes with shatterproof,Expandable memory + FM radio ... Sammy rules
NFC Samsung payment is ready on my phone and Samsung phone is better. The only problem is Apple pay has blocked Samsung pay in this country. The next edge phone I'm really excited about
I can't wait for the Samsung S7 edge to come out. The NFC technology to start working so I can touch and pay with my Samsung phone just same as Apple pay. The curved edges on all side. Just requires smooving the corners and glass curves a little bit better.
No microsd no go for me too, and that will mean the note 6 will not come with microsd that will be a bad news to
fix the cam resolution, the new device will have a 12MP back camera.
ScottP, 02 Feb 2016Why don't they make the S7 Waterproof ? Ive been a Samsung Fan for years BUT now they don't ma... moreVery few phones will keep removable batteries, so stop complaining. Besides, it's supposed to be 3,000 MaH and the Edge 3,600 MaH. And it might actually have waterproofing and dust resistance. It's said this was the phone to fix the screw ups from the S6. But the removable battery is gone, and always will be. You can't even take the glass panel off without breaking it anyway.
Anonymous, 03 Feb 2016if has Non-removable battery, surely can not pass from our side. It's supposed to be 3,000 MaH and the Edge at 3,600 MaH

Hassan, 03 Feb 2016I'm more of a samsung galaxy user but I think I'm gonna go with Huawei mate 8 this time.Huawei did an impressive job, but with that sub-par GPU, lack of 4K and not so good camera -- all whilst retaining the premium price-tag -- I will definitely pass...
