I'm giving this phone, 75 out of a hundred, based on the display, web browsing performance, build quality and looks! The display is amazing, unless you set it to basic or photo mode, which makes it look alot more natural. Browsing's a mixed bag, so at the end of the day, it's no faster than my Z5 Premium, and my Z5. Compact, but I prefer the build quality of the S7, plus it looks better, in Gold Platinum.
mischa, 14 Jan 2017Guys, help me decide please. Should I go for Samsung Galaxy S7 or Sony Xperia Z5? I really wan... moreThe 2k screen is pretty much just a gimmick which brings worse gaming experience. They are as durable as each other because both have glass backs which will crack after every drop, so a case is needed. Maybe the S7 is little better because it has a harder frame. But technically, the S7 is just one year ahead which means the Z5 is no competition to it. I would take S7.
Trever, 15 Jan 2017Why the aspect ratio in 12 MP is 4:3 unlike the S6 which has 16:9 ratio in 16 MP??I once heard 4:3 is the standard for photography and 16:9 wouldn't make much sense. And the megapixel amount doesn't matter.

The Bluetooth on s7 won't pair with any of my devices. The screen requires a much harder touch when using the keyboard. My s5 didn't have these problems. Wish I knew this before I bought it.
The same people who hate on the Sony z1/z2 for having glass are the loving Samsung for putting glass on the s6/s7.
mischa, 14 Jan 2017Guys, help me decide please. Should I go for Samsung Galaxy S7 or Sony Xperia Z5? I really wan... moreNo, S7 does not explode, is the Note 7 that exploded, S7 came before the Note 7 so I say is a ractically safe phone, if you're gonna buy the S7 I suggest you buy a tempered glass for the display, and a good cover because it's back is glass and with just a drop it'll break. Here on this page you can make a good comparison of both phones and that can help you see which one fills your needs. I definetely between Sony and Samsung I choose Samsung. But, that's just my opinion.
Guys, help me decide please. Should I go for Samsung Galaxy S7 or Sony Xperia Z5? I really want a Samsung phone. Does the 2k display really make a big difference or is it just a gimmick and I won't notice any difference compared to 1080p display? And also, is the Galaxy S7 a safe phone? I've read that some units are also exploding.
I want a phone that will last me for years. Which is more durable? S7 or Z5? Please answer all my questions. Thanks.
For those of you who have an S7 (Regular) like me, and have trouble that your phone gets Hot, do these steps, Go to Settings then go to Battery and disable fast charging. It says clearly on it that the phone will get hot when you use Fast Charging, Also use a Standard Samsung Charger not the Fast Charging one. Believe me you'll see the difference, mine doesn't get hot, Never since I bought it.
JL, 12 Jan 2017goto Settings >> Battery >> Disable fast chargingThat's what I did I disabled the Fast Charging thing, and I use a Standard Samsung Charger. Mine doesn't get hot not even with normal use.
mischa, 13 Jan 2017How much does this phone currently cost? And how much will be its price drop when the S8 gets ... moreI fell in love with the Gold one, and that's the one I got, all phones come in Black and White and I want it to try something different, so I choose Gold. But, If you like the Black one, Go for it! It's a good phone at least for me.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2017i think white is the most beautiful color greetings from an iPhone 7 userI bought mine in Gold, white was my second choice but I loved the Gold one more.
[deleted post]I bought this phone just a few months ago, and I don't regret buying it, Mine doesn't get hot or haven't explode and I use it a lot. About using it on planes haven't heard anything on that either cause the major problem was the Note 7. The S7 is a powerful phone, much more powerful than the J5 I had before. So, I don't regret the change.
powerfull chipset but 2k resolution is a very bad idea for a smartphone. most of apps in the market are not optimized for this resolution and most heavy tasks will slowdown the processor. 4k will be a big mistake for s8 by samsung !
