Fellas, I need some suggestions. I'm gonna buy either an S7 edge or an iPhone 6s plus (or the 7 plus when it comes out in about 3 months). I like the S7 better on every possible aspect, but standby battery drain is an extremely important factor to me. I know for a fact that iPhones have an amazing standby time, having used an iPhone for more than 2 years. But then I got an HTC m8 (been using it for a year and a half and still counting) and its standby time has been absolutely pathetic, and it got even worse after the marshmallow update. Other than that, my experience with the phone has been amazing. I really want the S7 edge, but I'm hesitant about how the standby time battery drain will be, given my past android experience with the HTC, and that is the only factor that's making me lean towards the iPhone. So how exactly is the standby battery life of the S7 Edge? For instance, If I go to sleep at 12 am with 100% charge, how much would it drain by by the time I wake up at 8am? Cheers!

i'm afraid things are not as easy as that. the number of megapixels is but one of the variables involved in picture quality and by themselves are meaningless aside that, to manufacturers, a higher number means people will THINK it's better. the size of the light sensors, the lenses, the image processor and more all mean a lot more than the number of pixels.
and if you think about it for a second, it's why phones that have the same number of pixel rating produce vastly different pictures.
unfortunately, if you value picture quality above other issues then a dedicated camera is still a must, and definitely so if photography is your job or even a treasured hobby. the camera is a nice addition to a phone toolset, that's all; it's good that it's there so that you can capture unexpected moments at the drop of a hat, but there's still no comparison between even a high end phone and a dslr.
Julliard, 17 Jul 2016Bla bla bla...I know the concept but i don't want to waste time explaining lenghtyly like you ... morenot buying it. those of us who *actually* understand about such issues do not make those kind of mistakes or take that kind of a "shortcut", since it's not a shortcut at all, it's a logical fallacy. memory and storage are not comparable in that fashion, it's like trying to explain how to build a bottle of water by describing the workings of a water pipe.

With yearly and 2-yearly upgrades, there's no reason anybody should ever be without the latest phone, money's not an issue even should i have it.
here's the contract for the upgrade:
those problems are an engineering challenge with the edge model, not an individually flawed phone or user issue, i've brought it back to the store, and they were no better at getting it to recognize presses in that area than i was. the edge screen itself, no problem, but over the bend? 1 or 2 out of 10. the 1/2 to 1/3 battery life on the other hand, is due to having to drive that huge 2560x1440 vs my old FHD galaxy S5.
so, if you claim not to have those issues, of the two of us it's you who clearly does not own the phone.
