Battery very small for that display 6.2" and 500+ppi. No meaning so display. 3509mah very small.. Waste of battery only, full hd resolution enough (320ppi+) for 7"
I am currently living in Sydney, Australia, and I got my S8+ on the very first day of the release date. From my 2 days of experience, I would like to say that this phone is really a beast. Obviously there are some lacking. For example: There are no dual lenses like iphone 7 plus. The main thing I don't like about iphone is that they haven't included the first charging technology to iphone yet, which is really sad to me. However, it drains battery faster than the S7 edge or S8+. If anyone wants to buy S8/S8+, buy it without any hesitation. Finally, choices vary from person to person. So S8+ or iphone 7 plus, both are the beast! Choice is totally yours!
AnonD-663664, 23 Apr 2017I said that the AREA is the almost the same than the Note 5, even with the S8+ being 6.2". In ... moreThe S8+ screen is 69mm x 142mm = 9800mm² (ignoring corner curves)
The GN5 screen is 71mm x 126mm = 8950mm²
That is a bit over 9pct more. You are right, the ratio means it isn't as big as it sounds. Hopefully the GN8 is a 16:9 screen or similar and at least 6.0 inches.
The SanDisk card, class 10 should have no problems playing video if its genuine.
AnonD-77443, 22 Apr 2017Actually the S8+ IS 6.2".

just a different shape of it, if you compare the screen areas, the difference is just 2.7%
I have been using a SanDisk card, class 10, and had video pausing all the time. i guess I will have to use a samsung card
I know the GN8 is a way off but these are my thoughts after using the S8+ for 2 days.
The 18.5:9 sceen ratio won't be great for the S Pen.
If Samsung used the same bezels of the S8+ and a 6.2" 16:9 screen the GN8 dimensions would be 81.1mm wide x 154.8mm tall. This is a smidge bigger than the GN4. This screen would have 8% more area than the S8+ and 18% more than the GN5 (ignoring curved corners).
This screen and dual rear cameras would probably convince me to trade in the S8+ as much as i like it now.
Also, the finger print scanner should be BELOW the camera :-)
I never really considered an s device over the note line but i'm close to buying this s8+. But the lack of an s pen keeps me sane enough to wait for the next note. But by the love of god, this phone is indeed gorgeous.
All Nonsense, no body has bought in Dubai since morning, and all sorts of feed back. 850$ plus device no color options nor Package this time. Blue color will be launched next Qtr
AnonD-663073, 21 Apr 2017Its an amazing phone because of its specifications but its design not that much..it looks weir... moreListen mate.. Its not really HUGE.. It looks TALL though. But it is barely any bigger than my P9 Plus. Its in fact narrower than it. People tend to forget the Screen to body ratio when they see its a 6,2". The Note is bigger then this..
I been having this phone for a day now and i must say, never seen or felt a sexier device. My only beef IS the fingerprint sensor. Should be UNDER the camera instead of beside it.
And the camera is great. Don´t need a dual camera or whatever. Want better pictures? buy a DSLR camera..
Batterylife is good so far. But i need a few charge cycles to actually see its potential.
AnonD-77443, 22 Apr 2017I have had my black S8+ (Exynos) for a day now. AnonD-77443, 22 Apr 2017Actually the S8+ IS 6.2". It is measured on the diagonal and ignores the curve on the corn... moreHe didn't say it wasn't 6.2". It is 6.2. But a 6.2 inch display that's narrower and taller is a lot smaller than, say, a 6.2 inch diagonal square display. The SURFACE of the screen will be less. So yeah, the usable surface of the screen of the S8+ isn't the same as a 6.2" with 16:9 aspect ratio. It's closer to a 5.7" 16:9.
Why on Earth the Dual model doesn't have a dedicated SD-Card Slot noticing that 64GB internal storage is no longer so big!!! Very disappointed about this point! Moreover, why not to have STEREO speakers in stead of that silly single speaker! Another disappointment!!!

it is a gre... moreActually the S8+ IS 6.2".
It is measured on the diagonal and ignores the curve on the corners.
The screen ratio is taller which means the screen is taller but not wider. The area is bigger than a 16:9 5.7" screen. The pros and cons of this ratio have been debated for months prior to the release of the S8 phones.
The camera is hardly any different to the S7 in good light. Indoors and in low light it is a totally different story though.
I have played large movie files from the SD card and have no problem. I'm using a Samsung Evo 256GB card which is quick. If you have a cheap generic card i'd replace it.

it is a great phone, lots of things i like and a few I don`t. It is really thin, and the apparently larger screen of 6.2 inches is just BS - they made it noticeable narrower and taller, so in the end the screen AREA is less than 3% larger than the area of my old Galaxy Note 5 (with 5.7-inch screen), and smaller than my Huawei Mate 9 (5.9" screen). The Note 5 had the home/back buttons outside the screen, so in the end the Note 5 from 2015 has a larger screen area. And now the Note 5 has android 7.0 as well.
The face recognition not always works, probably 50% of the times it doesn´t. The fingerprint sensor sucks where it is, I have not tried the iris recognition. Beautiful screen, but I never liked those curves on the borders which reflect light from both sides when you are walking in the street with sunlight. Battery is great so far, and the camera not really better than the one on the Galaxy S7 Edge, which I had and sold months ago (I couldn´t stand those curves with a smaller, 5.5" screen). Those curves on the glass only diminish the usability of the screen, i don´t see any purpose for them other than making it look nicer.
The card inside works but the phone seems to be slow reading from the card, and the video constantly pauses, very annoying. I had this problem with other Samsung phones, never with the Huawei and other chinese phones I had in the past. I guess I will need a faster card? not sure that will solve the problem
AnonD-663548, 21 Apr 2017Sales tax is state dependent. Some states, such as Delaware, have no sales tax, while Maryland... moreYou are mentioning the state where there is less population. If we talk about Texas there is a sales tax of 13%, New York 12% and New Jersey 10%. These are the 3 most populated states in USA. So, there are 52 states in USA and if we talk about an average there is 8.75% sales tax in complete USA. Still cheaper in India. You are just like a people who doesn't want to buy the flageship phone. Just want everything within the range of 15000-20000. If you can't afford it who told you to buy it. Just go with the Vivo or Oppo. Samsung company is not for you.
