No name, 22 Aug 2017Yes it was me ';-) I'm very confused what to buy because i love S7 but some users says its not... moreAs I said, you should go out and check those particular models in your hand. No matter what we say, your confusion will not go. For example, I seldom use my fingerprint scanner. I use the iris scanner instead and it's damn fast. The more you use it, the faster it becomes.
For the placement of Bixby button and fingerprint scanner, you should check those yourself, no alternative.
But if you ask me, here is my opinion:
If you want to play heavy games with smooth experience, blindly go for iPhone. I will personally vow for it that the experience will blow your mind off. But, you will lose productivity, customization and use of ease. Until and unless you have the Apple environment, unless you own a MacBook, an iPad and an iPhone, you will not enjoy the usability of Apple products.
On the other hand, if you want customization, ease of use, productivity (that's mostly for Samsung, other manufacturers are far behind in productivity, in my opinion), then Android should be your choice.
Then again, in Android you get wireless charging, fast charging etc whereas in iPhone you get none. And the battery of an iPhone is relatively smaller than that of any flagship Androids.
As I said, you have to go and check and do some research yourself. Don't bias your judgement by asking us "what would you like?" and buy something and regret later.
I know I have my own reasons to stick into Android over iOS, heck, I prefer Samsung over most other Android manufacturers out there for things that most people mark as "gimmick". But that's me. You gotta justify your purchase.
I have heard that people had problems with their S8 & S8+, but I had none, neel, zero (till now). So I guess there is a bit of luck involved as well. At the end of the day all of these are electronic products and may fail any time. There are thousands of iPhone users complaining about their iPhones, just go and check their pages. Same goes for Samsung, Sony and other manufacturers. But there are also customers who are satisfied to the fullest. You have to take that risk.
Hope you will go out and check the phones by yourself and only then ask further questions. Because it seemed to me that you are asking the same question round and round and we're answering them.
And if you are planning to buy a phone 5-6 months later, start researching before 3 months of your purchase. It's enough, trust me. Many things will change by then, including (but not limited to) price, availability, upgrades etc.
Hope to hear updates from you. Ciao...
I've been using S8 since late of june. It was superb. Very fast and smooth. Very reliable and confortable to use.
But since the last update I was face an incredible resistance of battery. I'm no longer use fast charge, because you only win 15 minutes. I keep using phone easily for 2 days with an average screen time of 5h30. Sometimes I play games for 2 hours and other stuff of course.
No name, 23 Aug 2017Hmmm...Well i have no problem to buy it,but i was wondering 70% people conplains about S8,Some... moreWorried about performance of S8? Don't listen to me waffling on about how good it is.. just look at the reviews out there In the usual places.
You don't have to look too far either ... In gsmarena's own words
"Much like the Galaxy S8+, the small S8 is hard to fault for performance in any area - it sets the standard, really"
No name, 22 Aug 2017Yes it was me ';-) I'm very confused what to buy because i love S7 but some users says its not... moreWell Bixby only got global release yesterday so I have only just started using it and I'm pleasently surprised by it. I had no real intention of using it but I was just curious as to what all the fuss was about so I gave it a try ..... quite happy with it so far, and going to keep it on the phone for the time being.
Must admit before I downloaded BIXBY I was getting annoyed because I had this button on the phone that I had no use for as BIXBY wasn't ready, so it was a bit pointless. But as with every thing in life what someone likes there is someone that doesn't like. Then you get all the fan boy's trolling, it's like being back at School "my dad could bear your dad" kind of mentality.
And most of these people In would find it hard to believe have even tried the phone that they are bashing..... i dont know why people cant just accept that everyone is different and what suits one person will not suit another. Some people just stick.with the same brand because it's familiar to them and that's quite understandable but seriously you would think they were supporting a football team and some seem to relish antagonizing others.
No name, 23 Aug 2017Also i always put cover on my smartphone :-)Thanks for suggestion btw.Yeah, I use a case too and I know that you are worried about the fingerprint sensor but in my opinion the placement of the scanner was blown out of all proportion, you would think it was thus massive huge problem, but in reality it took no time to get used to, it becomes second nature...... a case really helps with that too, as it's cut out where the camera and sensor are and your finger just instantly finds it automatically. And don't forget the S8 has Iris scanner and face recognition too :) Some people prefer using those :)
In all honesty I would now be a bit disappointed if Samsung didn't put a scanner on the back now!! I use a folio case and I have the phone switched on as I'm opening the front!! So easy, even as i take it from my pocket my finger goes to the scanner automatically. I used the S6 Edge before and I find it easier to unlock than that, ok, it's microseconds quicker for me but the point is it's no hassle at all.
Talking about the S6 Edge and I know that you were quite happy handling your Dads phone (S6 edge) well in can only speak for myself but I find the S8 a more comfortable phone to hold, the size is marginal and the S8 has better smoother rounded edges that just feel more comfortable to hold. The S6 just feels sharper, I don't mean like your cutting yourself on the S6 edges or anything lol but dunno it's just not as nice to hold as the S8. But as I said before do go and try it in the time that you have before you make any decision :)
Anyone knew if the sony sensor or the samsung sensor of s8 rear cam have the same quality??
Coz based on reviews samsung sensors are extremely inferior compared to sony sensors... Pls advise

AnonD-260677, 22 Aug 2017ok then... im a user of s8 since may and i have my great experience with it. u know playing h... moreHmmm...Well i have no problem to buy it,but i was wondering 70% people conplains about S8,Some of them can be Apple's fan ':-( btw i think i should get S8 because its new and ur right if i buy old one it will get laggy and will not get update...All I'm worried is that the perfomance of the smartphone people also says that S8 is laggy u can also find that Forbes complains much about S8...That's why i got a little bit confused...
No name, 22 Aug 2017Yes it was me ';-) I'm very confused what to buy because i love S7 but some users says its not... moreHey :) I completely agree with you, it can be so confusing, well you are not alone ..believe me. it can so overwhelming and everyone is giving you all this information and it's a lot to take in. I know exactly what you mean and I'm sure many people will relate to that. My head hurts sometimes.... one person says one thing and then another person says another thing and you can end up being even more confused than when you started :D
You said you love the S7, ... and reading between the lines it seems as if you would be really happy with the S7...thats the phone you want.. but the only thing putting you off is what some people are saying about it and it's confusing you? You are getting mixed messages, Is that right? Are you looking for a bit of reassurance really?
Well as you may already know, it was only this time last year that the S7 was Samsung's flagship phone, so its not that long ago, and many of the phones that have been released after the S7 and even phones still being released presently can't match the S7's specifications and capabilities.
No name, 22 Aug 2017Yes it was me ';-) I'm very confused what to buy because i love S7 but some users says its not... moreok then...
im a user of s8 since may and i have my great experience with it. u know playing heavy games, jump into another apps is very smooth. if u want better ram management then u should buy the exynos veriant but snapdragon is not that bad either. the s8 and s8+ has been awarded by EISA for the best smaftphone of the year.....and this happened for a reason and u can see it. the s8 and s8+ is the most reviewed and used smartphone by youtubers and many customers.
but here is one thing i want to tell u that if u want a value of money product then u should buy the s8 bcoz if u buy any old phone.....the phone would stop recieving updates after some day or month.....so if u buy any latest smartphone....ur money will be worth of it........at last....if u have money to buy s8.....then go for it but remember allways buy case with it.
Anonymous, 22 Aug 2017Sorry but I'm a bit confused are you the same person with nicname 'no name' that had similar d... moreYes it was me ';-) I'm very confused what to buy because i love S7 but some users says its not worth to buy some says it's still great that's why i come here to ask now i have no idea what will i buy but i will not buy any other smartphone i have been experienced it.If S7 will last 2019 then i would go for it otherwise i will get S8...I have been search for one plus 3,but its not availabe here :-( even if i check in store i will still wonder what to buy...so thats why I can't decide. Some users says S8 isn't good smartphone to buy...Some says its the best one so i get confused ':-V... i agree not everyone's has same choice...how long do u have S8 and how's it going?is bixby is that bad :-( people complains about it and the new button...i guess some of them can be Apple's fan or may they hate Samsung...do u hate bixby button?or Fingerprint?and can u give me idea,A little bit? :-) thank you...
[deleted post]Sorry but I'm a bit confused are you the same person with nicname 'no name' that had similar dilemma about whether to go for the S7 or S8 yesterday?
You obviously have many doubts about each phone and you are not going to buy for another 7 to 8 months so why have you pinned it down to either the S7 or S8 at such an early stage? How did you arrive at that decision, you must have reasons for that. What were those reasons considering the doubts that you have?
There are so many phones on the market and if you can afford the S8 then it seems budget is not a problem. There are also new phones on the horizon that might appeal even more. so how did you arrive at your two choices so quickly considering you could buy any phone.out there. What other phones have you considered, and why did you dismiss each one?
Your answers could really help many people that are thinking of buying a new phone and.may save them a lot of time.if you could.share your thoughts :)
Regarding the size of the S8 and the fingerprint scanner position, would it not be best to go to a shop and hold it, you have 7 to 8 months to do that?
I happen to love the position of the fingerprint sensor but I'm not you. I love the size of the phone but yet again I'm not you. These are really individual preferences so if you are going to spend many hundreds of $'s or £' i really think it is better to check out the S8 first hand.
suomynona, 22 Aug 2017Right at the moment S7 & S7e has 40% drop in price. In the upcoming 5-6 months there will ... moreThanks for ur answer :-) well still no idea, but i might get S8 or Iphone 7 maybe i love S7 design but it will not worth ':-( btw i will be ok with any i enjoy :-) actually i play much games, listen to music, and use much social apps,etc...so thats why im worried.btw which smartphone do u have right now?And how's it?First i thought to buy Iphone SE loved the design of it but i could find it in store after that, yeah that's true fans always do that ;-)...
No name, 21 Aug 2017Hi guys! So i was planning to buy S7 After 5-6 months or might be more,So i was thinking like ... moreRight at the moment S7 & S7e has 40% drop in price. In the upcoming 5-6 months there will be Samsung Note8, almost there with Samsung S9, Apple, iPhone 8, 7S & 7S+ will be in the market, Google Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL will be there, Sony will launch a few more models, so will Motorola, HTC, 1+ and other manufacturers. So S7 & S7e will have more price drop. It's almost out of the market now and I found only 2 handsets in the market (just a few days ago, 18th Aug, 2017).
Now, there is the factor that what I might like, you may hate. I love my S8, but when I wanted to buy one for my wife, she declined, telling me that it's not justified to buy a phone with BDT 78K. I brought mine in pre order, got a DeX (worth BDT 15K) & a 128GB mem card free (worth BDT 8K). In total my phone costed BDT 55K. Even I wouldn't buy an S8 right now with BDT 78K. So we went for an S7e, couldn't found a new one in black color, so had to purchase a used one.
In 5-6 months, you have to see what is the market value of S7, S7e & S8, S8+. Again, what is your preference? I know nothing about your preferences. S8 is a great phone. If you have enough money to spend, then close your eyes and buy S8. If you don't have enough money like me, decide, compare, see what is there you can go on with, what is there you must need and what is there you don't want. See what phone has those. It's totally up to you what to buy. And about the screen size, go to the market and check for yourself. What is big for someone may turn out to be just fine or small for others. To me personally, I love the screen of S8.
So, I ask you to go on and do the research yourself. Here everyone will boast their own preferences to you. Apple users will tell you, "None, both are crap. Go for iPhone 7". Sony users will say for Sony, Sammy fans will ask for Samsung. So, you better go and check it for yourself.
Just because everyone else is using something doesn't mean you have to use that too. One of my friend went to buy S8 & brought back Huwawei P10. That is another great phone. Even 1+5, upcoming 1+5T or 5S (whatever it is naming) is going to be good. So I ask you to go and check them for yourself. make a list of what you want, what you need and what you don't want/need. Then make a checkbox under each models and see which covers your wants and needs more. Then check for price and other things.
Anyway, don't want to make it any longer. Choose wisely. Ciao...
Bixby Teaser Ad
"Get Ready for a Smarter way to use your phone 08 22"
Kazu, 21 Aug 2017Why there's no answer and reject call with voice command If you don't have a clue what im going on about and you dont have Bixby up and running on your phone just now, (only certain areas do e.g US the big rumour is that it may be up and running globally tomorrow. The Day before Note 8 released
Below Copied from sammobile
We’ve now spotted an ad that Samsung’s running on Facebook. The ad is a teaser which calls on the people to “get ready for a smarter way to use your phone.” The Bixby logo is clearly displayed in the teaser so this could only mean that Samsung is going to announce the global launch of Bixby tomorrow.
August 22 is mentioned as the potential launch date in the teaser and thatÂ’s tomorrow. The timing wonÂ’t be surprising given that Samsung is due tounveil the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23. If Bixby is launched globally tomorrow, it would mean that all Galaxy Note 8 users will have access to this feature from the very first day.
Kazu, 21 Aug 2017Why there's no answer and reject call with voice command Dunno, try this
Go into Bixby Voice settings and then go to the voice wake-up section. Then enable use when phone speaker is playing
