Anonymous, 05 May 2017SURPRISINGLY: There are six different resolutions in S8 Two 1440p and two 1080p and Even... moreIt's not like you are forced to use 720p. It's an option. I always say it's best to have a feature than not have it. Look at a possible advantage, suppose a favourite childhood game comes your way but it refuses to work with anything higher than 720p, at least you could switch to that resolution and play it. If the option isn't there you wouldn't be able to play the game.
its sad to see soo many bugs in a brand new phone which is nearly 900$
from boot loop..to wifi issue...red tint issue...some phones just going dead...fps issue...common Samsung fix that asap....we need a phone that just works out of the box
There are six different resolutions in S8
Two 1440p and
two 1080p and
Even (disappointing) 720p mid_range standard
More surprised is that S8 gimmickly runs 1080p by default despite On paper specs is 2K (1440p)
You have to improve to 2K in setting
But 720p make NO sense perhaps to compete iPhone 7 plus in speed test
based from my research in different forums, here are some of the differences discovered in 2 variant of samsung galaxy s8 series
- uses Snapdragon 835(faster, battery drains faster, no problem handling heavy load)
- uses Sony IMX camera sensor (better)
- uses UFS 2.0 Storage (faster memory storage with 500+mb/s sequential read in ANDRObench Storage test)
- uses Exynos 8895(a bit slower, lesser battery drain, reported some lag/hang in some instances)
- uses ISOCELL camera sensor (still good camera, haven't notice any difference yet)
- uses UFS 2.1 Storage (faster memory storage with 700+mb/s sequential read in ANDRObench Storage test)
current survey is now looking at possibilty display burn in/retention.. although its normal for AMOLED this should be this FAST..
VasiliS7edge , 03 May 2017I also have the pixel and I am using it as a stand for my S8!it is obvious the other guy was talking about the OS performance, in which case, stock android will outperform any samsung phone. for a guy who is smart enough to be able to use a flat surfaced phone as a stand :P, how come you couldn't get the obvious? :D
S8 looks very good. Battery back up better than s7edge. And browsing speed better than s7edge.
Von, 04 May 2017Oneplus 3t or s8? 3T is half the price of s8. Let your budget decide on it.
Tejinder singh, 04 May 2017 I want to know what is prise of Samsung galaxy s8. thanks . It's around Rs 58k check out Flipkart and Samsung store for exact price.
Bitter but true! Image bleeding
That was just a beginning
I come from SONY xperia z1 compact, i'm leaning on buying this phone but SAMSUNG should stop playing the monkey game.. why?
there are two variants of SAMSUNG galaxy S8 which are sold in the same price range but obviously one is better than the other. In processor there is SNAPDRAGON 835 and EXYNOS model, clearly the SD 835 is the price point you are paying for.. second the camera, there is SONY and ISOCELL, clearly the SONY IMX is better and same with their S7 good camera hardware.. third is the earphones, this is made by SAMSUNG but tuned by AKG but they use the AKG branding for higher valuation unlike LG earphone that labeled LG instead of AKG since it is too tuned by AKG..
if you want to reply that EXYNOS is same with SNAPDRAGON, look in XDA and other MOBILE FORUMS, EXYNOS lags after minutes of heavy use unlike SNAPDRAGON which didn't have any issues..

Iphone7 or Samsung, 03 May 2017By reading the comments and your response to users here, there is a great bias towards Samsung... moreBoth phones are great. It's just a matter of taste. If you have used iPhone before and are familiar with the UI, then you'll choose iPhone, if you have used Galaxy before and are familiar with the UI then you'll choose Galaxy.
Then again, to ensure the 100% benefits and usability of iPhone, you have to be in the Apple EcoSystem. Using just the iPhone will make you frustrated. But you can use a Galaxy phone alone.
If you're a gamer, you'll love iPhone, because of the pure staggerless experience. But in Galaxy you'll get the productivity.
Also, iPhone won't let you customize much more than the wallpaper, while in Galaxy you'll be able to customize almost every bit of it.
iPhone has a greater collection of casings while S8 is new and don't have that many varieties yet (and never will have).
iPhone doesn't have the ability to extend the memory, so what you buy is what you get. But Galaxy can extend the memory upto 256GB (most available at present).
iPhone7 doesn't have the looks or feel of the S8, but it has the pride of using it. Yet, as the iPhone8 is just around the corner (late 2017, or early 2018), how much wise it will be to buy an iPhone7? If you want to buy an iPhone, I suggest you should wait.
I have said the same things to everyone who asked me about iPhone or Galaxy. Still if you think that I'm biased I have nothing to say. Now a days being generous to people and helping them seems to be considered as weakness. Anyway, take care. Ciao...
