I love the phone personally .... I would vote the S8 or S8 Plus best phone..... but that's just me.
You said "The majority of the people agree and approx 99% of pro reviewers agree that S8 is the best android phone" (do you have sources please?) and you followed that up by saying "it's as simple as that"
BUT I think sometimes it's not as simple as that, ... I feel we can get confused with what's the most popular and what is the best.... e.g Justin Bieber or Beyonce could be the most popular artists but does that mean that they are in fact the best? An album that is number one in the charts, is that the actually the best album?
A film could be awarded an Oscar by a small panel of experts does that actually mean it was the best? What about if you, me, he or she disagreed with their decision is it still the best?

Do you have a "best" phone in mind or are you saying that all top tier phones are good and be happy with whatever you choose. I know that you prefer HTC Ultra but is that because of its size or are there other factors as well.
Anonymous, 25 Jul 2017You make many good points and I'm not here to argue until the cows come home (omg what's with ... moreThe majority of the people agree and approx 99% of pro reviewers agree that S8 is the best android phone. Its as simple as that. If you don't like android, then buy a iphone as they are excellent also, just very different.
Anth0ny, 24 Jul 2017well if you want me to spell out what i mean in stead of using a phrase that comes close....
... moreYou make many good points and I'm not here to argue until the cows come home (omg what's with all the phrases lol) who's makes the best phone, everyone it seems has there bias. If I'm completely honest I'm no guru when it comes to analysing every single aspect and specification of every single phone on the market to determine what phone comes out on top and I know that the people who can do that are in the minority.
I find that many people that frequent mobile forums have a kind of football supporters mentality and will defend their preferred manufacturer or bash other brands and I would bet they have no real knowledge. I mean how many people own every current phone on the market and can evaluate each one on it's own merits without prejudice....not many I would guess.... yet it seems in my experience and in my own humble opinion, many peoplr suddenly become an expert..... and I just can't be bothered with all the fan boy nonsense, does my nut in ...... I find it immature.
I picked the S8 Plus because I wanted a big screen that had a great display and it was endorsed by many of the reviewers that I respect, I checked out the compare tool on gsmarena with current phones on the market ..... and if im honest I loved how the phone looked (blush) I also had a S6 Edge previous to this so I thought it would seem quite familiar as well.
I'm really happy with the phone itself, although it has its shortcoming e.g I loved the look of the phone but here I am with a case on it!!!!! That to me is madness!!!! But i genuinly dont think i could keep it in reasonable condition if I didn't protect it... that annoys me..... also Bixby in my opinion has been a marketing disaster, I have a dedicated button on my phone for a beta lol and the voice isn't even up and running yet lol ......... is it the best on the market overall? I genuinely don't know, does anyone truly know?
To me at least it does everything and more that I want it to. We all have our reasons to go for a particular phone and budget is a factor too. I will defend anyone who is happy with the choice they made regardless of the brand and anyway I embrace good healthy competition amongst manufacturers because it benefits us all in the end as technology progresses at a greater pace as each one strives to be more innovative .....
Anyway I think I'm waffling on a bit and don't know if I have made any sense.
Thanks for your reply :)
Just sayin, 24 Jul 2017I have always seen the phrase 'Jack of all trades' as a put down, that's how it's used 'Jack o... morewell if you want me to spell out what i mean in stead of using a phrase that comes close....
the S8 does many things that no one phone can match. but is not the best of any of the things it does. I'm not saying any of its capabilities are out right horrible but by no means are any of them the "gold standard" Except for the appearance of the front of the phone. for that 1 thing, i would give it the top of the pack. so if a person just wants a phone that does a lot and is "good" that's the s8
but if you looking for a phone with the "BEST"...
Audio... that's not the s8
camera.. that's not the s8
mic's that's not the s8
durability.. that's not the s8
response time.. that's not the s8
charge time... that's not the s8
battery live... T.N.T.S8
color accuracy T.N.T.S8
most volume T.N.T.S8
biggest screen "area" not to be mistaken with screen size. T.N.T.S8
and I can go on, and on, and on, like this.
It's good but not the best. and the only short way I could describe that is "jack of all trades"
and you shouldn't buy a general purpose phone with a specialty task in mind. as well as you don't buy a phone that only specializes in something you don't even use.
so you (the buyer) should know what your main purpose for wanting a smart phone is and buy to suit, instead of just buying a "name" and complaining after. which is what most complainers do.
Sadly a lot of people are blinded by marketing and would say I'm wrong about everything I said above.
you know the people that say i'm not going to buy a phone because it don't have a IR blaster. but the IR blaster on their old phone, they don't even use.
or no headphone jack but they only use bluetooth.
Anth0ny, 24 Jul 2017Thanks for agreeing the S8 is not the fastest.
Because that's all I was saying. You don't buy... moreI have always seen the phrase 'Jack of all trades' as a put down, that's how it's used 'Jack of all trades master of none' is used to kind of mock someone or some thing.
I looked up the phrase and the first definition came up as :
"a person who can do many different types of work but who is not necessarily very competent at any of them"
It's not an accurate description of the S8 or S8 Plus!
Anonymous, 24 Jul 2017"master of none". I don't see any other device with a better display or even equivalent, that'... moreyes, Samsung makes good screens but they also sell the same screen to other OEMs
so you could say those OEMs are at the same level.
but the S8 has the curve edge and some people don't like that for the glare you get on the edge. so that puts them behind the OEMs that they sell their flap panels too.
there are also the color accuracy fanatics that will tell you the display colors are way off. which is not the attribute of a "Master"
Then there are some (like my self) that don't like the skinny aspect ratio for typing and content viewing. So the S8 is still not the master of displays. It more like the master of "sexy front face". and I know that is important to lots of people.
so, fine, it's the master of 1, jack of the rest. lol
Anth0ny, 23 Jul 2017when you see a new OTA update you should always go to the boot loader and wipe your cache part... moreAwesome! I'll definitely do that the next time I get an update.. So far have installed 3 updates without any problems.. Do you have any more tips like that? :)
I have the S8 G950FD Dual Sim Exynos 8895 version
Anth0ny, 24 Jul 2017Thanks for agreeing the S8 is not the fastest. Because that's all I was saying. You don't buy... more"master of none". I don't see any other device with a better display or even equivalent, that's pretty much agreed amongst every review made. So master of display which is one of the main selling points.
In the past they have smaller phones ,medium size and bigger for any type of customers .
Now you only have big and gingatic , What to choose , how about none
As there are no bezels it's much easier to drop. Galaxy S8 is like holding a baby.

Because that's all I was saying. You don't buy Samsung to be the fastest.
You buy it for the other stuff it can do. It may not be the "best at everything" but it can do just about "everything" that's what "jack of all trades" master of none means.

There is nothing wrong with my battery, its well exceeded my expectations. I am completely happy with it and it's been that been that way since launch when I bought it.
Who mentioned anything about how I charge my phone? Is this you attempting to be some kind of psychic.......... well if it is, I would stick to the day job.

Anth0ny, 23 Jul 2017If you want graphics and excellent multi tasking your first noob mistake was buying Samsung. ... moreThe only people that use noob in a sentence are people with no idea. Any flagship from 2016 onwards has more than enough power to run any game or app available on the play store. The Samsung has exynos 8895 or Snapdragon 835 along with either the Mali g71 a 20 core GPU or in the Snapdragon and adreno 540 the same as the HTC U11, Sony xz premium and One plus 5 so more than capable. As for speed tests they are getting pointless as it's not worth judging devices on a fraction of a second and not everyone opens more than 20 apps in a row to test how long it takes.
Disappointed , 21 Jul 2017I will never buy another samsung phone on release..... never!!!!! Im a mug!!!! I have done no... morevow vowwww relax bro..... hahaaha dont be too excited ...... samsung is lucky to have fans like u..... what to do..... there is report first 2 month sales of s7 is 12 million but first 2 month sales of s8 only 10 million but i believe the 10 million sales is exagerated may be only around 5 million sales and another 5 million is left at store/vendor side unable to sales.... thats why they keep reducing price a few time.... by the way there is price in crease from s7 to s8.... eventhough is see the hardware and everthing the same hahaahaha...thats smart strategy to get some juice first and then give discount to increase saless....
