Hudinited, 04 Jun 2017security on Android is actually great if you don't root your phone (similar to jailbreak) and ... moreBrand and power don't matter. Android is secure enough. It won't affected by a virus if you are careful user and not watching porn videos. Good luck.
It's puzzles me gravely why they didn't use a 3300 - 3500 mAh battery in the S8, the endurance would have been so much better. from 84 to say 100 almost.
AAMIRSULTAN786, 04 Jun 2017Btw Im a Sammy fan and using s8 right now and its the best phone one can getI agree.
Nothing new in now a smartphone. I used a Nokia n93 since 2006. That was the true stylish design. Front, rear camera, thousands of apps and many more. 12 years later I think android only 10% advance from those Nokia . So it is no meaning to buy a high price phone like s8 or iPhone 7.
ray_bbit, 03 Jun 2017actually I want to buy this phone however I think my money will be going to waste since it is ... moresecurity on Android is actually great if you don't root your phone (similar to jailbreak) and security on Android phone depends on brand but bigger brand isn't necessary better secured so it's not that different level but like jailbreaked iPhone isn't secured at all but on some custom roms you have nice level of security :) actually i thik that apple steal your money
Jace, 04 Jun 2017It's been over a month since my mother bought her s8. And while I have gotten to know most of ... moreJace, this might be a stupid question to begin with, but are you aware of the fact that the Edges lit up only when the phone is placed upside down?
Btw Im a Sammy fan and using s8 right now and its the best phone one can get
Everyone have their own opinions Apple and Samsung are two different ecosystems and cannot be compared I can give 101 reasons why Apple is better and 101 reasons why Samsung is better so this war will never end nevermind both brands are the best in the world and you should proud if you have flagship phones from these tech giants
$U|-|/\|\|00, 04 Jun 2017Yes and No. I mean, you have to be in the Apple eco system to be able to enjoy the Apple bene... moreNot really I own an Ipad solely for travel/ movies, PC for every day use, and Android for phone.
Sunny, 06 May 2017It's not even giving me 4.30hrs SOT, worst battery life.
Very disappointed, seriously I dont ... morebro, battery backup depends upon various situation, I have posted on facebook an post in facebook about Battery Backup, this may be useful for you.
ThE~JoKeR, 06 May 2017you should buy the nokia 3300... It has a removable battery and 30 days standby ! LOLwhy you dont know any other phone which gives better backup than 3300, it shows how much you are knowledged LoL
I got my s8 about 2 weeks ago and so far, this phone has been really good. The battery easily lasts through the whole day with around 4-5 hrs of screen on time with heavy usage. The display is just gorgeous. I switched to this phone from an iPhone 6, and their is a drastic difference in performance and it's a total beast when it comes to performing all my day to day tasks. And the camera is hands down the best I've used in a phone up to now. The fingerprint sensor is not as bad as they say it is.. After a day or two, you get used to to it, and recognition is really fast and accurate. I didn't really like how the back glass felt on my hand as it has no oleophobic coating and it gets greasy real fast. So I opted for a Spigen liquid air case and that solved the issue for me and gave it some much needed extra protection and grip. What I don't like about this phone is the location of the Bixby button as I tend to hit that a lot when I'm trying to reach for the volume down key and Bixby is utterly useless. My only concern as of now is if this phone will get slower over time. But so far, I have loaded it with many apps and games and their has been no change in performance since the day I got it.
SaRPeR, 03 Jun 2017Your money will be going to waste if buy any APPLE products.Yes and No.
I mean, you have to be in the Apple eco system to be able to enjoy the Apple benefits. Apple products are only good with another Apple product, not any Android or Windows or BlackBerry devices. So, buying an iPhone is not going to give you anything else other than smoothness. To enjoy it, you need to buy more Apple products, in the process spending (wasting in my book, as I don't have choice of devices. And to be honest, a manufacturer never be able to make all of their products to look good, neither does Apple) a lot of money. While if I am using an Android, I can choose from various manufacturers, even from Windows and Ubuntu and other OS. I am using an S8 with LG smartwatch with Dell Windows Laptop with non-brand keyboard & mouse for my DeX - and yet getting the full support that I am supposed to get. You can't do these in Apple devices. Sure, you can connect an Android smartwatch with iPhone, but they don't give you even 50% service. But at the end of the day, if you want to switch to another device, you can sell your old MacBook or iPhone or iPad with almost 70% of the value you bought with. The only problem is, at that time, Apple itself put the last year's products on 25% sale. Which gives the buyer a question in the mind, should we spend 5% less and buy a used product or buy the same product in brand new condition with 5% extra? But in 3rd world countries, as there are no Apple stores, resale value of Apple products are always high, higher than any Android products out there, as people feel that they are better than the rest if they can have the half eaten fruit in their hand.
So, there you go - the resale value of any Apple product is higher than any other electronic products, true and false at the same time.
Take care. Ciao...
Polius, 04 Jun 2017Switching from S7 to Note7 is good?S7 & N7 are two entirely different devices. Those who haven't ever used an S-pen (not just any stylus available in the market, S-pen is more than just a stylus), will never know how great it is. I had my N4 lost on January and had been using devices those are way too old. Using them with my smartwatch was not doing it any justice. And I was dying to have a bigger screen. If N8 would have been released recently, I would have bought it instead of S8, I am THAT MUCH fan of Samsung Note series. I sometimes regret not being able to wait for much longer, for the N8. So, I can understand why people may want to not buy S8 and move to N7R instead. Even N7R is a great alternative for S8.
1. Great screen
2. Great battery
4. Good RAM management
5. Android 7.0 updated
6. Has iris scanner
7. Fingerprint on the front
8. Grace UI (almost like Samsung UX)
9. Much cheaper than S8
1. No one knows whether the battery will have problems or not (it did, after coming back once from Samsung in N7)
2. Bulkier footprint, but relatively same screen size
3. UI is not as smooth as S8
4. Doesn't have DeX connectivity
5. Iris scanner needs an extra swipe before activating and also is slower than S8
6. Resale value is lower as people will not be interested to buy a device that has a bad history
But even after the above mentioned things, I believe N7R will be a great buy for most of the people out there.
Take care. Ciao...
First of all, I would like to state that I don't regret buying or using S8 as my daily driver. As most of you know, I am a heavy user, my screen stays on almost the whole time unless I am on my bike or I am in a party. Other than that, it is either serving me as a map, or a tracker or a e-book reader or a game console or even a social network manager. And in my office it becomes my personal PC. I remember, the first day my boss saw this phone and was like meh (He uses an iP6s & OP3T). But when I brought my DeX to the office and plugged it in my monitor and started working with it, he was impressed. Sure, it can't do all the things that a PC can do. But for the office works, it sure is on par with the PCs. I even connected a Bluetooth printer for printing my documents. And the fun part is, if I am out of my desk, no one have access on my data as it is always with me. And when I put it back on DeX, bam, it is right where I left it.
Since I brought my DeX in my office, I brought back my wireless charger in my home. S8 can be charged while on DeX. And man, do I need it! But I gotta tell you, I have checked a nd found out my SOT over 4h 30m on every charge, ranging up to 5h 10m. So I am pretty sure that the battery is serving me just fine, considering it has only 3000mAh battery.
I have already posted a details review of my S8, most of those haven't changed yet. So I am not making this comment any longer. But in other areas, my S8 is serving me just great. The only problem I am facing now is that I am unable to find any screen protector that will let me use the Spigen casing that I am using. And I will not use the device without casings, for sure.
Other than that, I am heavily satisfied with my S8. I have heard some people facing problems with their devices, but to be honest, this is the first Samsung device which is giving me service more than I expected from Samsung.
Take care. Ciao...
Had it for 4 weeks and I must say I'm not happy with it 1st battery is not good enough 2nd the device look quite fragile that I have to take care of it as if its an egg though it good looking enough but I regret..if they exchange ill take another one
It's been over a month since my mother bought her s8. And while I have gotten to know most of it's tricks and features, one thing that still eludes me; edge lighting. I've turned on everything that should be turned on and I still don't see the edges lighting whenever notifs arrive. Help please. I might also add that while it is my mother's phone, she looks to me or my brother for tech support. Lol. On a sidenote, I wish s8 can save more than one pair of eyes for security. Lol
