No infrared..., 08 Jun 2017Will not see my money. It should have brought the IR blaster back. Few phones have ir blasters because many users don't use them because they don't work for their brand of tv, cable/set top boxes/ and other appliances. Had these users only downloaded an app called 'Anymote' from google playstore which has the best brand selection compatibility available, then they would have had a master remote controller for almost all their appliances. It turns out most users only rely on the built-in remote controller app that comes with their phone which is brand limited and has horrible functionality and customizability/cloud back up options. The end result is that the 'ir blaster' feature is seen as pure gimmickry/useless by most when it really is an indispensable tool when you download the correct app and properly configure it to run as your master controller everywhere you go.
The only brands which still have ir blaster in some of their newer and even latest smartphone releases are LG, Huawei and Xiaomi. Many of these smartphones also still have FM radio so if you prefer local news and entertainment broadcast in your local language/dialect with no data charges, then these brands also have them (though not in all their smartphone lines).
AnonD-39079, 10 Jun 2017Ok, I hear from a lot of people that Samsung puts apps/features in their devices which are not... moreTo SUHANOO:
You are so correct about being able to find out things about your Galaxy flagships whether old or new. My S5 is still surprising me with new things I never thought possible and I now realise how many sensors are in it. The S5 is truly a masterpiece and I honestly don't feel the need to change it because quite honestly, everything released after seems like a downgrade.
Anonymous, 11 Jun 2017This phone overheat? Like s7? Absolutely NOT! I can genuinely hand on heart say that it does NOT...... it Would be Breaking News on the TV if the S8 got just a little bit warm :)
The phone flies like a dream (Ok, dreams can't fly.....I know) Mind you so it should for it's price tag (I feel a Jessie J song coming on) ......... but the high price tag does indeed disappear into insignificance really when you experience the sheer beauty and power combined with elogence, class and quality that IS the fantastic Samsung S8 Plus.
The phone has to be held to be believed all shiny and new. Biggest surprise has been the amount of On Screen Time I'm getting..... very pleased. What a bit of kit! Seriously!
CHA, 09 Jun 2017BATTERY :) Hello! Been using S8 for three weeks now. (former Huawei P8) Very much satisfied... moreMaybe I try this Greenify. I'm a normal user too and disappointed. The S8 battery is worst than the LG G5.
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2017Is it the S8 fingerprint a place to press. Is it really hard to press by using your left hand ... moreIt really isn't an issue. Many of the reviews and critics made a bit of a fuss of the fingerprint scanners position but a couple of days after using the phone I don't even think about it.
I'm using a case (otterbox strada) it works really well with it as I can unlock the phone before or as I'm opening the case, so easy.
According to description it is not clear which model supports which LTE bands. So it would be nice if you will write supported LTE bands for EACH model.
AnonD-676170, 10 Jun 2017Samsung is incapable to repair my S8 sound issue which is production related issue and doesnt ... moreYou should write your complain in Samsung's webpage. They are suppose to guide you with your problem. Please update your status. Also, can you please write in details what is the issue you are facing with your device? Just asked so that others can have knowledge on the issue.
Hope your problem solves soon. Take care. Ciao...
Samsung is incapable to repair my S8 sound issue which is production related issue and doesnt want to replace the device. I thought it is only Samsung in Croatia, but i've read similar experince from other countries. For a flagship device this is really a dealbreaker for me...last Samsung i own...
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2017Is it the S8 fingerprint a place to press. Is it really hard to press by using your left hand ... moreUse a case. It'll protect your S8 plus it'll give you a reference point. I don't smudge my camera anymore. And oh, try using iris scanner. It's amazing. The more you use it, the more accurate it'll get. Ciao...
Ok, I hear from a lot of people that Samsung puts apps/features in their devices which are not worthy enough or in a word, gimmicks. Lemme give some examples why I chose the S8 over many other flagships in the market.
1. Almost all the flagships have AOD. But how many of them don't waste the battery when your phone is inside your pocket or faced down? S8 don't display it when it senses it's inside the pocket.
2. Curved screen has edges and Samsung put edge screen there. Those who never used it will not understand the useability. I don't go inside app menu now a days. It's easy, it's unique and makes people jealous.
3. Samsung is the only manufacturer who provides security like Knox (Secured Folder). You can have your office and home separated now.
4. Most of you guys may say heartrate sensor is a gimmick. But since my Note4, I became more active as I could see my steps and heartrate and that inspired me to workout more.
5. Most of the people always complain about Samsung putting same app twice. But to tell you the truth, I love Samsung Gallery more than Google Photo and it gives me options to edit and do more without another app. Same with the music player and other clone apps. Samsung apps seem to run smoothly on Galaxy devices (the same reason iPhone runs smooth with it's native apps).
6. Samsung always innovates with their things. Yes, it's true that the first time it seems waste, but over the years I find them improving and improvising. Look at edge screen for example. It was nothing when.launched. Now it has definite ease of use. Bixby is waste of space now. But I can assure you it will be amazing in the future. I'll write on Bixby sometime, if I get some time.
I'm not saying other manufacturers are worse. It's just Samsung flagships are worth giving a shot against other flagships. And when you have it, it grows into you. I have used other flagship devices, but after a while it loses it's charms. I don't feel that in Galaxy flagships. Don't even think of buying Samsung midrange devices - they are crap. But with flagship devices (new or old) you will sure discover new things every day.
Take care. Ciao...
AnonD-230773, 09 Jun 2017To be honest. I don't think new phones will be coming out with an IR blaster anymore as it tak... moreIR Blaster is not good, more people will use Cast or Mirror-link and it have better support to more devices for completeness of vision.
AnonD-675735, 09 Jun 2017Oky all fine but memory only 64GB???? I think it should be 128GB....Duude. Ever hear of expandable memory...?
CHA, 09 Jun 2017BATTERY :) Hello! Been using S8 for three weeks now. (former Huawei P8) Very much satisfied... moreIs it the S8 fingerprint a place to press. Is it really hard to press by using your left hand fore-finger. Do you miss press the camera lens when you want to press the fingerprint sometimes.
I'm using s8+ for last one month but it's strange that several scratches appears on display after 15 days of use .Simonteniously I am using note 5. Note 5 display is till showing its beauty after 1yrs frequent use
Anonymous, 05 Jun 2017iPhone 7 definitely. S8 is problematic. Lots of bugs and hardware defects. iPhone 7 is flawless.Don't listen to a iPhone user they always say iphone is flawless. Flawless means fraction of a Second you are not gonna win a lottery by using a iPhone. Bit using an Android you can have lot of features and customization. Anroid lag fraction of second because it is a heavy os with full of features
No infrared..., 08 Jun 2017Will not see my money. It should have brought the IR blaster back. To be honest. I don't think new phones will be coming out with an IR blaster anymore as it takes up quite some space and the phone companies are trying to make their devices as thin as possible. I agree that it was a useful feature for some of us but it was a very small amount of people who actually used it. Therefore it's hard to know whether it will make a comeback or not
