Anonymous, 06 Apr 2017which is the best ? HDR10 or Dolby vision ?Dolby Vision because it have 12-bit color depth while HDR10 with 10-bit color depth. Dolby Vision is a brighter, more colorful version of HDR, offering millions of more colors on-screen than HDR10 can. DV can display everything on the REC.2020 color space. But it doesnt really matter. If the device support Dolby Vision it naturally should support HDR10. Smartphone like LG G6 have both.
how the audio quality compared to LG v20?
LG v20 have 4 DAC 32bit/192khz, samsung has 32bit/384khz
Harold, 05 Apr 2017Lol its a oversaturated amoled. Xperia Xz has an hdr display I havent heard the xz premium being certified by any body for its ability to play hdr unlike s8.
Samsung changed the battery chemistry with the S8. If the S8 truly degrades only 5% every year, I would get it. Imagine owning it FOUR YEARS with comparable battery degradation to a phone with only ONE YEAR of usage.
Could be Samsung marketing bs but Ben Sin from Forbes did mention the S8 default setting is at 1080p and warns users to not set it to 100% brightness. Slower, degrading battery is S8's best kept secret feature.

They can exchange patents without charging each other. They all can copy as much as they want from each other without going to court. ;-)
Anonymous, 03 Apr 2017200 more , and one can't even warm up the Starbucks coffee with that new battery !Agree :-)
I'm skeptical with the S8 battery... will wait 3 months after its release then decide to buy or not to buy...
Well, almost 2 years after the release S6 edge Plus still looks like undisputed champion in terms of design, usability, hardware and future proof abilities...if it only has IP68 and memory slot...!!
Really disappointed with the S8 disproportionate desigh, one colour option for the front, complete lack of hardware innovations...yes, infinity display, with weird, useless ratio with implementing the nav buttons into it, actually decreases the viewing area afterall...they created minimal industrial design, witch personally lacks style and reminds me of cheap Chinese siblings...
ProJames, 03 Apr 2017I am perfectly aware of that. I gave the pricing in CAD, not USD. I said 1035$ in CAD. CAD. NO... moreThat's what I am trying to tell you. Its not expensive as you are complaining. Apple i7+ is selling for almost the same price in Canada and that phone is 6 months old now.
The s8 edge plus copied the idea of sony clock, and copied the no physical home button of the sony phone.. Such a trying hard copier.. Samsung already ran out of ideas.. So trying hard to catch up with their losses.. hahahaha
I'm a Galaxy fan since the S6 came out.
However, after trialing the S8 i'm somewhat disappointed with the design.
1. There is a bright reflection from the edge of the screen
2. Also, the screen size is deceptive. the proportion of the screen is bad (too narrow)
abcd2, 04 Apr 2017The only people I've ever seen that have cracked screen are iphone users xDDDDDDDDDDVery very true. Drop less than a meter, cracked like a spider web. The most common question I ask an iphone user, "What happened to your screen, dude?".
Anonymous, 05 Apr 2017S8 and s8+ are tall and gangling Missplaced fingerprint makes awkwardly use for daily use ... moreYou making it too obvious Apple fanboy. If you like iphone 7 Plus you should had bought it since last year not this year. Its already April. Now, you claiming you hate S8 and going to buy outdated iphone. Lol.
