Vicky1417, 03 Apr 2017Have you even tested both side by side? Stop trolling brothey completely change the design, S8 doesn't look from S series ;) like apple iPhone have similar look every year they changing a bit the things which are not visible that much antenna line at the back or something... camera is on same place, home button this year is not the same as 6s and every iPhone model but it is on SAME place which is one of the simple things what they must follow for their series models. Sony as well, Sony devices are not the premium design phones but they are following each other. Samsung put battery of 3000mAh on display of 5.8", galaxy S series for me finished last year...
ProJames, 03 Apr 2017"Information for Canada". This implies CAD, not USD pricing.I don't know if you know this but CAD is weaker than USD dude. Also the plus is 1115 CAD (USD 837 approx) which is roughly the same as i7+ in Canada.
To everybody complaining about the pricing.
Samsung has other mid range phones and it is still manufacturing the S7 siblings.
Also, there are chinese options too. Samsung is not stopping you from buying them.
If you can afford buy S8 else stop crying like little girls.
Appreciate the hard work guys !!
Also the camera is still the best out there. Dual cameras show no visible benefit besides maybe the bokeh effect and zoom. Unless Samsung can up that they won't introduce Dual Camera setup.
The biggest Samsung mistake is taking the fingerprint at the back.(same camera as last year, battery is the worst....) -.- (iphone 7-is better than s8)
Cpt. Power, 02 Apr 2017Asking 200 eur mre for almost same phone like S7 was is ridiculous. Samsung CEO are sick mids. 200 more , and one can't even warm up the Starbucks coffee with that new battery !
The lack of a home button and no double tap to wake means you have to pick up the phone to use the fingerprint scanner on the back or wear out the power button like it is 2011-2013 all over again before LG copied 2x tap to wake from Nokia in late 2013 with the G2.
I use Wakeup Touch Nexus to wake the screen but it can be annoying like Motorola Active Display because a nudge to wake it which kills more battery sometimes. Also, Google or Samsung should copy Apple with the notification toggles sliding up from the bottom. Reaching out your thumb on the S8 to the top shade to tap toggles is a nightmare.
Bixby - Don't need another voice assistant. Google Assistant, Alexa, or Cortana can all take care of me.
DEX - Is this Motorola Atrix again? If I want a laptop or desktop experience, I use my notebook like my MacBook Air. Done. I don't need docking hybrid gimmicks. My ASUS Transformer Book is terrible anyway as either.
Did a quick snap comparison today at another Best Buy with the S8 vs my G5, Pixel, and S7e. I preferred the G5 the best. Maybe because they all have different screens and the AMOLED ones tends to be warmer while the G5's is very dim and cold. But whites looked white and more realistic..
G5 has this secret weapon. The wide angle lens. Call it ugly. I don't care and neither does WALL-E. I prefer UGLY USEFULNESS over PRETTY USELESSNESS. So you lose, Samsung. No extra eyeball, no thanks Pirate. Never sacrifice practicality over dumb, useless aesthetics.
I do like that the S8 is narrower and the edges aren't as pronounced like what the Note7 had. The S6e and S7e can be very pronounced. But other than its newer, cooler design, what else is there? Nothing! Internally, it is NOTHING SPECIAL!
We will just have to wait and see with the S8. But I don't believe the hype and see nothing groundbreaking from it so far.
JGM2517, 02 Apr 2017The real price of both versions are: s8- $749 and for the s8+ It's $849. "Information for Canada". This implies CAD, not USD pricing.

no physical home button, the size is huge even you have big hands. you need a special pocket in your pants for it too :)

ziana zain, 02 Apr 2017lg g6 with s821 has 159000antutu score .

lg ... moreNo.
Lg g6 143000. Samsung s8 174000.
It is true, Samsung made a mistake by NOT including a flat version. The flat S7 was the better phone to hold one-handed thanks to being more compact too. But the S7 edge got all the marketing and reviewers' hype for being prettier in promo shots and being the more expensive of the two.
Going to wait for Finland's Global HMD to release the Nokia 8 on us. Gotta stick with Motorola and Nokia being old school. The Oh Geez over the Oh So Pretty. Moto and Nokia have patents and been in telecommunications for decades. If Motorola is like the Atari of cell phones, Nokia is Nintendo. Samsung is like Microsoft.
If going from iPhone 6s to iPhone 7 was pointless, then going S7 edge to S8 is moreso. At least iPhone 7 gain water-resistant and dual front speakers but lost headphone jack. And 7+ offered an extra gig of RAM and 2x optical zoom. With S8, you gain nothing significant except a narrower, shorter design.
Money isn't a limitation for me, so S8's price is hardly an issue. I can buy a different flagship every month. What bothers me is the S8 didn't improve anything useful from last year's hardware or software. The S7 edge in a different casing. Note8 will likely look the S8+.
Galaxy X, Pixel 2, V30, and Nokia 8 are the only three I look forward to for the rest of 2017. Some people collect shoes. I collect smartphones especially powered by Android. Gotta add a Nokia Android into my current collection.
there is no flat screen version of S8, big mistake for samsung.. also market dependent of whether its Snapdragon or Exynoss is unacceptable
