I don't really get what samsung wants to reach with the S8? They are basically copying LG with the V20 and not even doing it properly.
-The LG already has Facial Recognition so it's nothing new..
-Fingerprint sensor at the back? Its not even centered in the middle, but at the top of the device? so if you have small hands, its not going to be in reach.
-Whats with the UI and home touch buttons? Its basically the same as LG's?
-LG was the first phones to come out woth USB Type C.
-Where did the IR Remote go Samsung? Last seen in the S6 and S6 Edge while the V20 still has it.
-LG sticks with the REMOVABLE BATTERY!
-When are you going to copy the wide amgle camera?
I can go on and on...
The S8 and S8+ is a dissapointment!
My opinion about this new phone is.. I think, samsung has done their best to continue making the series S phone. But, i dunno why i'm not satisfy with this new phone because it's characterictic of samsung is missing. The special of samsung from the old phone or new version is the home button. And now, samsung wants to make the new version that removing the home button because the phone is bezelless. And i think, the design isn't interest me because the corner of the phone is rounded.. So, i'm people who like the phone corner is sharp. Thanks
I expected s8+ to have compared to S7edge
Better cpu , done
Phone design to stay the same as it is the best , not done
Bigger Ram , not done
Bigger battery , not done
Same or Better camera , done
Improve screen material so it does not scratch , improved somehow.
Same or better internet connection, better
Same or better camera in low light , better
Same or better video recording , better

There is no issue for me if apps hang/freeze,
Navi bar back, home, still respond,
If phone hang just hold down power button,
No power+home to restart device.
Just now screenshoot maybe need power+volume down.

It is nice to have you fingerprint on the front.
2. What if the phone software stuck and you need to force turn off the phone. Previously (hold home +power ) would turn off the phone and get fresh start ... what will happen if the software stuck and you cant turn off it ...?
At somepoint I bought a brand other than samsung and it was fine , till the software stuck and I could not do anything about it ..basically i had to get rid of it.
Currently happy with my S7 edge. Which I think the best design for a phone.
S8 apparently has excellent processor , camera , screen , decent battery ( I expected more ! ) . Fingerprint on the back ( i think being front is better )!
RAM is the same as s7 4gb which is somehow very sufficient I did not need more than 4gb anytime during my last year using the phone but I dont mind having 6gb as it can keep up with the updates.
KryptonianPHA, 01 Apr 2017Im a faithful Samsung guy, but this was disappointing...i gotta say 1. No physical home but... moreNice phone though...but I'm won't be picking this phone up unfortunately...
Im a faithful Samsung guy, but this was disappointing...i gotta say
1. No physical home button anymore
2. Fingerprint sensor is on the rear of the phone?...smh
3. 85% of the tech. specs match my Galaxy S7
4. More screen = Less protection
5. Color options don't impress
Final verdict...ill wait to see what the new Note has in store or simply stick with my S7
I will wait to see what the note 8 has to offer, I REALLY want more internal memory
I wonder why they remove the ir blaster after the s5 and never put back.
Omar, 31 Mar 2017Battery sucks....... only 3000mAh for sa 5.8" screen :( shamesungI think the S8 will show the black theme all the time including the browser to save battery consumption.

HitX, 31 Mar 2017Probably not. I just wanted a metal back on the S8. And bigger damn battery. Inb4 "The new s9 ... moreHaha dear brother it's Samsung, don't expect something big from them, what they say in the ad is it's like an African elephant and when they deliver it will be like a goat. It's just the marketing trick they want attention they just say stories which actually they don't have. Cheating. :(
Joselius, 31 Mar 2017Too big compare to what? Its no bigger than Pixel XL or iphone 7 plus. are you even lisen to what you said ?? Why did you compare to ip7 plus , iphone has iphone 7 with normal decent size . iphone 7 plus is for people who want bigger size . WIth Samsung what can you choose ?? People who like note series will buy the new s-series , people who want decent size will focus to another brand
Like samsung a lot as a brand. Had 3 samsung phones, but my present huawei p9 plus is the the best i ever had. In case of the samsung s8, the placement of the fingerprint scanner looks like an afterthought, and the battery size is for me a dealbreaker. Even the s8+ battery size of 3500mah seems short considering the size of the phone. It's 12% bigger in volume than the s7 edge but the battery is smaller! Don't understand these design decisions.
anasela, 31 Mar 2017It's so huge. I wonder what will happen if you accidentally drop this phone. No need to wonder, it will shatter in a million pieces, i've got a S7 Edge pretty and extremely sharp when dropped :D. Never buying a glass phone again.
Harold, 30 Mar 2017List 5 things the s8 has over the competition..oh wait NOTHING! 4K HRD is new, 19MP camera is ... moreMate i see you wish to troll and didn't even bother to read what i said. Its your choice what you buy and you can be easily one of the 3 people that will buy this phone if i believed you at all.
Your first one is: camera and after that camera and after that camera and after that BT5 which is funny because Samsung will be the officially first phone on the market released to the public with it, for anyone who cares. I surely don't.
To people that actually have some misconception about Sony, read their financial reports. It says it all. They need to pick up the slack or get off the mobile market.
