I want to use screen protector to avoid fine scratches caused by sand particles.
I was using the protector which I got during purchase. It was "thin film" type. I liked it very much. It does not reduce screen sensitivity in noticeable extent.
But it has been removed during taking in and out from pocket.

shakeweightysan, 19 Jan 2018great phone, but if only it had the fingerprintscaner on the right place....I was first dont like where fingerprint scanner placed, but i get normal with that. But since i put the case on, theres also layer covered between camera lens and fingerprint scanner, so i wont get slipped to dropped my finger on lens
when it works it is great, got a new phone after 2 weeks, still having software issues requiring factory reboots.
wish I had spent the extra money for the apple.
shakeweightysan, 19 Jan 2018great phone, but if only it had the fingerprintscaner on the right place....It's not an issue, you can use iris scanner or face recognition instead.
great phone, but if only it had the fingerprintscaner on the right place....

The guys at the service centre said that the LCD can be replaced (almost half the price of the phone) but the frame won't and the glass around the frame was chipping off. Unfortunately I had to sell it for peanuts but will be getting another one as soon as I save some more money as it was and still is my dream phone.
My review about this phone, using it for about 2 months
Performance (10/10) super snappy phone, really and never lags or anything annoys me.
Battery (9/10) one day usage for daily usage like whatsapp, browsing etc and about 6h for continous usage. But could be perfect if 3500mah
Display (9/10) gorgeous display, visible under sunlight, rich in colours but colours seems oversaturated bcuz I prefer lifelike colors
Camera (10/10) one of the best camera on market right now, daylight was unbeatable even in lowlight
Features (9/10) ip68, headphone jack and microsd card. But it could be perfect if had mil std 810g like Lg phones
Overall, really happy after change from xperia xz, s8 was like 3 times better than xperia xz
sukrsa2004, 18 Jan 2018Have you even read what I have written? Personally I would not go for the screen protector option. Really, I discourage it completely, I really do.
The screen should be enjoyed as it was intended, it's sooo responsive and your finger just glides so effortlessly across its beautiful surface.
My advice is to go for the folio case option. It's the best option in my opinion as it offers good protection to suit most lifestyles but more importantly the case can be removed in an instant to reveal it's full beauty.
Are you sure you want to go the screen protector route? If so, why?
Anonymous, 18 Jan 2018Great device. I really recommend it Have you even read what I have written?
Anyone from India please suggest me screen protector which will not compromise with screen sensitivity.
sukrsa2004, 14 Jan 2018OTG and data transfer to PC using USB working for me.
Thanks for the info, I've done a bit of "follow up"...
I have "dual" OTG USB adaptor, one end "USB-A", to computer, one end "micro-B" to phone.
This works with previous phones and my computer, (checked and double-checked).
Samsung supply two adaptors with the S8, a type "A" to type "C" and a "micro-B" to type "C"
My OTG will NOT work with the "micro-B" to type "C"adaptor, (nor with any of my other "micro-B" to type "C" adaptors).
My OTG WILL work with the type "A" to "micro-B" adaptor supplied.
What I need now, is to use the "A" adaptor to connect to my computer with another "A", to see if the data problem is resolved.
Anyone else had "type C" problems?
