Do ensure you use the original new Fast charger.
Forget about older model type charger, as always use the original new charger.
Completed charged, then do Restart the phone.
Charging may affect other settings and apps, so it is best to restart should the phone is not stable.
If the charging is still like this, then it is time you try to restart the phone BEFORE charging.
Pissedoffbish, 14 Jun 2017I was always a fan of Samsung until this. I recently received a galaxy s 8. I went all out an... moreDo you think a temper glass can protect the phone.
Ever drop a tablet, the outer glass no break and no scratch.
But the inner screen fully broken into thousand of small pieces.
Just use a simple screen protector will protect the screen from dirt & oily hands.
As the screen already being protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, so need another glass to make the phone heavily and thicker that heat up fast easily.
Well, i did damaged a Samsung phone screen by dropping and guess what.
The Samsung service center replaced it and prepared to pay, then the staff said it is FREE.
no name , 19 Jun 2017lolllllll.... how long futureproof it is ? thats your question?? please reply this message how... moreYou can laugh all you want, though I have no clue why.. I Treat my devices with the utmost care and always use a pretty heavy duty case to keep it looking like it just rolled off the factory floor.. I keep them for a very long time.. Ex: I currently use two mobiles side by side, the HTC HD2 [Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional with htc Sense] and the BlackBerry Bold 4 9900 [BB OS 7.1]... The htc is 7 years old with the same battery it came with and the Berry is almost 6 years old again with its stock battery, I use my phones as pure communications devices and nothing more.. I charge them once in 2 days..
I thought of buying the S8 to replace both of them because they're starting to show their age in terms of day to day functionality [the Devices look pristine though!]. That's why I was curious about it being future proof for a good few years..
Coming to the points you made, the first two were about the battery and its lifespan.. If you have half a brain and a hand attached to an arm, you can very easily replace it yourself by just opening the device..
The third was more in line with a concern I had regarding the future proofness of having a device with 4GB RAM since I do keep 'em for long..
And fourth, yeah, new devices do tend to come out with more features that its predecessor but for me the S8 already has plenty..
lintern, 19 Jun 2017Just ordered this lovely device and will be getting it in a couple days! Excited! :DAwesome! I hope its everything you're expecting it to be! Congrats :)

The last thing I want to do is buy the device at its launch price, that $100 off is something I'd like to see happen and would convince me to buy it because then I could justify buying a really expensive case like the OtterBox Defender or the Lifeproof Fre to protect it.. People here can be very spiteful for some reason..

Nowadays manufacturer all trying as hard as possible to limit the number of year can be use... lollll...except SONY with QNOVO tech.....
there is a few reason i say so... first
1. non removable battery .... with existing battery will die in a year or 2 with normal use... if still want to use need power bank.....
2. fast charging- will kill the battery faster--- believe or not after a few month.... opspssss why my battery go down fromm !00% to 10 % so fast....

My personal mobile number and company phone number. I cannot compromise on that. Memory, I need more than 64 GB as I download movies and store. Or else I have to carry an otg pendrive always with me. That is kind of annoying right? Premium phones with these kind of drawbacks . After all we are paying in 1000's right? If it's a budget phone, it's understandable. I need the value of money I pay for. Hope you guys too value that.
Anonymous, 18 Jun 2017Still no price cut like US, this thing is overpriced in India.Yeah, I know what you mean... I'm just waiting for the price to drop a little so that I can justify the upgrade because 58K is way too much for this thing even though its a pretty great piece of hardware.. To me it doesn't make much sense to pay PC money for a phone..
Everything is fine for me about Galaxy S8. These are the big problems that got me so livid and I really regretted buying it, wasted my thousand dollar for nothing.
1) Fingerprint scanner is on an inconvenient location.
2) Price range is too high, but Samsung should at least supply a cover and screen protector for all Galaxy S8 devices since the price is ridiculously and inconveniently high.
3) Short battery life, and my phone heated up while charging halfway, this problem happened umpteen times.
4) The edge of Galaxy S8 is a little much, I would prefer a slight curve will do, don't have to be big.
5) I tried placing my finger on the home button, it didn't work.
After all that I have experienced, there is still a room of improvements to be made. Samsung, if you claimed that you do really care for your fans, please do something about it and be much more better than Apple iPhone devices. I hope Samsung Galaxy S9 would be a better and improved device. Keep it up for trying! Appreciate the efforts Samsung have made so far. I am a fan of Samsung for 12 years, I really wished Samsung will improve what needs to be done on a phone.
