3000 mAh for a 5.8" 2K screen? Only 4GB RAM? Same camera technology? No physical home button? Terrible placement of fingerprint sensor? Not waterproof (waterproof ≠ water resistant)? Too tall and too narrow? Too many defects? Too expensive?! Really?!! WTF is going on SAMSUNG?!!
It's good to do something different but weird stuff doesn't mean it's different.
Xiaomi Mi Mix has good proportions.
But Samsung with such a Design looks weird. Visually it's a very unpleasant experience, though premium offering.
The screen and resolution is sooo big! And because it's Android, It will surely affects the battery life even if it's 3000mah. Android needs more battery and RAM compared to iOS devices right? I hope 835 is really a power efficient.
I love how people are just saying it is such a terrible design for a phone. For instance the camera is the same camera as an S7 and S7 edge but with a software upgrade. The thing is, you do not need anything more than 12MP for capturing 4k quality photo as the amount of pixels match so a higher MP camera is only useful if you want to zoom in on stuff at a distance.
The amount of people who are comparing it to other Samsung phones such as the A3 or whatever saying they will never buy a Samsung due to the experience they had with these phones, they are not even in the same market as they would market under cheap, bottom of the line phones. If you want the true experience of what a Samsung phone can do, get the current S series phone as that is Samsung's top of the range phone. I have had an S7 edge for the past year and I do not regret it, the software isn't as efficient as an iPhone with resource management but it surely does make up with features. Atleast if I expose my phone to water it doesn't get destroyed instantly or even drop it from hip height, it would take a good 5 to 10 drops for the screen to crack compared to an iPhone which would shatter instantly. All of the phones are in the same money range so it is all a matter of taste. iPhones are a more software orientated phone where as Sony like to push and show what hardware and features can be accomplished in a phone of today whereas Samsung and Google make phones which are helpful with business management while trying to make something simple to use with semi-top of the line hardware to get things done at the same price as both an iPhone or a Sony.
To be honest, I am really looking forward to what Samsung are bringing to the market with the S8 and the S8+ and some of the features it carries. I will finally be able to take a work computer with me everywhere in which I can slip into my pocket no problem at all which will be incredibly useful seeing I will be on the move. I doubt it will have gaming capabilities but it is designed to be a business phone rather than a £5000 state of the art gaming pc. Just give them a chance, they have only just announced the devices.
This is what happens when you become selfish and hog all the Snapdragon 835s. Karma, right? :-D
qwerty, 30 Mar 2017uuuuu Sony Fan boy. Yes yes sony always has the newest chipsets , cameras ect ect ect ect but... moreUhm, no. Sony phones are good at low light pictures. The Xperia Z5 is 3 generations old so...
V139, 30 Mar 2017Well anybody know if the the screen is pentile or RGB ? GSMArena wrote on the S8's hands-on page that it uses a pentile diamond subpixel arrangement.
Sony xz premium is still the best phone of 2017.. Rip Samsung

Luka3rd, 30 Mar 2017And we were making fun of iPhone getting only longer... Now Samsung made stupid design first! hahaaa stupid ?? Apple will use this 18:9 ratio for their future iPhone. It is standard Univisium format. All future movie will use this 18:9 ratio.
Nothing special? All brand do the same. Do you want aliens technologies every years.

They might #1 in volume sales in TVs and phones, but their lower end market has always been crap. Just 15 years ago circa 2002 when the cameraphone revolution began, Samsung was always second-rate to Nokias and Motorolas like Hyundais and Kias were to Toyotas and Hondas.
It is only in recent times in this decade with better marketing they copied from Apple while going for premium design is when Samsung started to become relevant as an overall brand and regarded first tier. Back then, their brand wasn't any more popular than Sanyo (Japan). Samsung was always a B-rated brand or worse.
Remove the Samsung name in their entry and midranger phones and they are really no better than Alcatel and Coby. A generic producer with a higher price tag. Where is the once mighty Panasonic with their durable products like a Toughbook when you need them? Made in Japan was usually top quality.
No! It has the 835 in Canada too! No Exynos 8895! Gotta wait the S9 or N8 if they fix that! And the design too.

The only downside was battery life. I regret not getting one instead I bought the galaxy a3 terrible experience and phone. Well congratulations samsung you made a proud samsung hater because of my experience with the galaxy A3. Thank samsung to let me see from experience what a terrible brand you are. : )
Not at all exciting. Camera department is no huge improvement only software upgrade. Battery is not good for power user. Time will tell
