For the S8 generation, this is what I except:
4 variants (S8, EDGE, Premium and compact, all with the same specs except screen size and battery)
Single enhanced camera (12MP+, but a dual camera would trash the design)
8MP selfie cam
QHD for all except the compact, which would have FHD, and the Premium would get 4K.
4 to 8 GB of RAM, 4 for Compact, 6 for Normal and Edge, 8 for Premium.
Deca-core Exynos everywhere except the US (and, unlike the Note 7, put the Exynos variant in Canada), where they will get the newest SD.
And a lot of new functions and software optimization
The only smartphone brand I've ever owned is Samsung. If Sammy wants to keep it that way, here's my suggestions:
1.) The ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe is probably the most powerful phone in the world at the moment. Meet or beat that phone in every category with the S8. That means: 6+ GB RAM, 256+ GB internal storage, while keeping the SD card slot as well, Snapdragon 821 or better, 23 MP camera (just make your camera better than theirs or anyone else's, MP ain't everything and everybody pretty much knows that), 8 MP front facing camera.
2.) Make all of your Samsung apps uninstallable -- unless of course the phone won't work right without it. Why do you want to consume space on my phone for things I'm never going to use? But if I find a use for your app, then by all means make it easy to put it back.
3.) There's vicious rumor based on a patent that Samsung obtained about a year ago that Samsung was going to build a laptop-like docking station -- allowing Samsung users to convert their phone into a laptop on the fly whenever they want. Whether you do it with Google Chrome OS or Windows or something else, DO THAT. The modern smartphone has taken over for just about everything we use every day. About time to make it replace the personal computer already.
I own s7edge and I wait for s9 in 2018. Every 2 years is the best thing to save money for upgrade easily.
No CPU phone?, 16 Sep 2016Any one know what CPU for this S8?snapdragon 830 octacore in USA presumably
exinos 8895 decacore for the rest
From the photo above, looks like the S8 is going to be a thin phone. Hoping this would be a fat phone ie. screen width more than 3 inches. (not refering to the 5.2" or 5.5" diagonal measurement, some 5.2" phones have screen width more than 3 inches while some 5.5" phones have screen width less than 3 inches, eg. Samsung S7 Edge 5.5" screen is less than 3 inches wide). Like fat phones because (1) more space for keyboard, less chance of hitting the wrong key, some may even put the numeric keys on top of the keyboard (2) have a taller screen when watching videos in landscape orientation (3) have a firm grip on the phone.
Rohit, 24 Sep 2016Phone is very good But i think camera should be 21 MP .....12 mp camera according to S8 is ver... moreNo bro s7 camera is made up with the new camera technology, s7 is the best... i am waiting for S8
DUAL 12 MP camera is WAY better then 16 MP. First, to understand MP (Megapixels) More is not always good. It can be a gimmick, and you do not notice any sharper after a certain point. So look at the dual 12 MP camera almost as 24MP if you want, but in a way dual 12MP is way better then any single whatever MP camera.
These are my suggestion.
1. More pixel above 600ppi
2. 4k UHD screen.
3. Exynos CPU with quad-core 3GHz & quad-core 2.1GHz cortex-A73 and higher G71 GPU if there is for magnificent gaming performance.
4. Higher battery for more greater use 4000mAh is enought for now.
5. Camera dual pixel 16mp and dual pixel 8mp front
If even the standard Galaxy S8 (plus S8 edge) will incorporate all these amazing specs?!
(Plus the Exynos 8895 SoC with ARM Mali-G71 GPU, with power of up to 3Ghz), It will be really just great & it will be really a game changer! The only specs that I wish more, (apart the removable battery, that for now it seems not so possible for Samsung?!), are the long awaited, loud Dual Stereo Speakers. (& to be even better, front/selfie flash & 4K recording ). But as I said, the most important alongside with all these great specs are the dual stereo speakers. I really hope that Samsung will include them with all these fantastic specs!
S . SUDHAKAR, 18 Sep 2016Still no OIS and autofocus for the S8 front camera?. Learn from HTC 10.Excuse me, but these are not the official specifications for the S8 fyi ._.
Wait for it to release and then start spewing out your HTC crap
Phone is very good But i think camera should be 21 MP .....12 mp camera according to S8 is very cheap , S6 edge's camera is better than S7 edge and s8 edge
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2016I have an s7 edge, 12MP doesn't sound a lot but the dual pixel tech inside it is ridiculous...... moreIt is good i agree but nothing compares to the sharpness of a picture on the P9 fantastic bit of kit at a very good price
S . SUDHAKAR, 18 Sep 2016Still no OIS and autofocus for the S8 front camera?. Learn from HTC 10.Who wants to own a HTC? Someone who's never seen inside one I guess. They held together by tape and sticky crap, zero quality.

Marcos Sans, 17 Sep 2016It's to bad have only 12mp the camera. Why not upgrade this time to 24mp for example. The size... moreI have an s7 edge, 12MP doesn't sound a lot but the dual pixel tech inside it is ridiculous...pictures come out clearer, brighter and les pixelated when you zoom in than any other phone I've seen - and I work in a phone shop X'D
