AnonD-257122, 13 Jan 2018I'm very particular about my phones, always use covers for maximum protection, even at time I ... moreYup, and also be very careful about it. I didn't drop my S8 even once. Also I usually always keep my phone in the same pocket, I have this habit even from before. I know that still, drops can happen, so I have book case.
I'm sorry about what happened to you, and yeah, only "active" line of phones are resistant to stuff like that.
I bought the "F" model, more fool me. It does not have OTG , ( at least for flash memory) and won't transfer data to my computer using USB, both essentials services for a top of the range phone.
Samsung, (Billions of dollars profit), just shrug their shoulders.
They drop OTG to pay Bixby? What a rip-off. Bixby is just spyware reporting back to Seoul, retire him now!
S8 User, 13 Jan 2018It depends on how it drops too, and there also comes the fact what kind of protection you have... moreI'm very particular about my phones, always use covers for maximum protection, even at time I was changing my back case to flip case when it all happened but it's history now. I know that when you buy an expensive phone you need to shed extra bucks for it's protection.

Protection film/foil or whatever peels off easily, and all glass protectors for it simply suck.
Personally I use book case, it takes you a while to get used to it but you can also put some cash and cards in it, which is handy. Also, a case like that will protect it really well from all types of drops, just - at the cost of hiding beautiful looks of your phone.
Mary, 12 Jan 2018Planning to buy mobile.. s8 or nokia 8? Which one is better or both are same? ThankuGo for the S8.
Hairline crack at the top of the screen and the upper corner glass crack, it all happened yesterday when my S8 slipped out of my hand while i was sitting. Really disappointed as I just got it 2 days back and had saved money to buy my dream phone in midnight black. It had the regular screen film not tempered glass as the latter doesn't cover the entire screen and is a bit hard type. I know if I take it to the service centre I'll have to pay sh@t loads of money, I know its not the company's fault but the build quality doesn't justify the price I had the S7 edge earlier and it survived couple of falls without breaking.
Mary, 12 Jan 2018Planning to buy mobile.. s8 or nokia 8? Which one is better or both are same? ThankuSamsung Galaxy s8 without any doubt. go for it!

scorpio, 12 Jan 2018That's interesting. Are you suggesting that these two bugs do not affect equinox phones? If so... moreI'm not professional but one of these bugs doesn't affect it for sure. About other one - Google says that it affects only some Exynos chipsets. Now, some say S8 is not affected by either of issues, and some say the same for S7...
S8 User, 11 Jan 2018SnapDragon has Meltdown and Spectre software flaws. That's why I think Exynos will surpass it.Anyway each have its advantages, so choose what you need, but don't blind by the marketing strategies.

Complete phone...S7 Edge & definitely not S8.
Well hope I ve not stirred hornet's nest here but, verdict is S7 Edge walks with trophy of 'complete package'. With Oreo update round the corner...this shall be a 'complete' phone with best-ever tag. I ve been owner of S series since '11. After S2, S6 Edge was the 'real' game-changer for SAMMY. The shortcomings of s6 edge (water resist, expandable memory n above all battery life) were taken care of in successor. In the name of new fad, 18:9 resolution isn't really appropriate. 16:9 is technically best. S7 Edge is at and shall forever remain at pinnacle of world of smartphones....& Black variant is one to be proud of.
Anonymous, 11 Jan 2018S8 ridiculous battery timing U have to charge twice A day .... come on samsung It's pointless just spurting out statements such as this. Would a regular long distance car driver complain that he has to top up fuel more than that wee old woman that takes her car out to the local shops once a week.
What is your On Screen Time? What are you using the S8 mostly for (Device Manager > Battery > Battery Usage) post the percentage figures after a normal day of use please.
What have you set up to synch. Do you have Bluetooth, Wireless, Location switched on?
Do download many things such as Apps, Music, Games etc and by what method?
What is the signal like In your area normally?
Supply your display setting, such as brightness level etc E.g If you have set up to 'Auto Brightness' and live in a sunny country and use phone outdoors to browse etc
