Hi guys, after the May security update, my phone auto restarts after every 5 minutes...have tried everything I know including a factory reset in vain. Help..
AnonD-131754, 11 Jun 2019Makes sense. But, temperature never rised before, why now? Perhaps they learned something from the note 7 and did not want any hint of a repeat, so they were perhaps being overly cautious. I remember reading an article that the R&D guy at Samsung told CNET that the battery in the S8 would degrade far less over a 2 year period than an S7 for example.
is your battery draining fast? what app or what can I do to utilize my battery. I am in power saving mode most of the time.
AnonD-131754, 11 Jun 2019Makes sense. But, temperature never rised before, why now? its just 4 months old so dont know about past bt wher i charged my mobile temp ther reachess 45 deg.. so may be thts the problem

Samsung's reply on this issue :
This mail is in regard to your Samsung handset S8.
We would like to inform you that; this is not an issue with the device, this is the inbuilt feature of the handset, during
*Wireless charging or fast charging, the device may feel hotter and this is normal range of operation which does not affect the device’s lifespan/ performance.
If the battery temperature goes beyond specified limit, the charger may stop charging the device and start charging again once temperature goes down upto the normal temperature (e.g. 36ºC) and this is only a precautionary action for customer safety. This mode is called as*“Swelling Prevention Mode”.
Swelling prevention mode is triggered due to the high temperature. If the phone temperature rises beyond certain limit, the maximum charging voltage is limited to 4.15V which is equivalent to 70~80% (±*5%) of battery level. This operation is disabled and starts charging again once temperature goes down up to the normal temperature (e.g. 36ºC)
-Taken from another thread when a fellow XDA member had the same issue and got the reply from Samsung..

Saleh , 08 Jun 2019Apple 6s plus 128GB / Galaxy S8 32 GB S8 is not 32 GB, but 64 GB...
S9 is also 64 GB, and S10 is 128 GB
S11 hopefully will be 256 GB, so no need for memory card anymore.

AnonD-131754, 09 Jun 2019https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/Other-Smartphones/S8-Fast-charge-stopped-working/td-p/262406Sorry this is old. But if you actually search samsumg members app community, there has been a lot of complaints regarding s8 charging really slow after the may security patch. And it resolves if you pull out the charger and plug in again. It starts fast charging. If the phone is still under use, it stops i think.
