Thank God for the Samsung Team. Was just having a presentaion/seminar, and my S8 fell from an elevated platform almost 4 feet where it was being charged. It made a loud thud on the hard floor and I was scared to pick it up. To my surprise and the team here; the front and back is totally intact, only a very slight scratch on the aluminium above but almost invisible. I would've been heartbroken and I can only praise God. Thank you Samsung from a customer in Nigeria, Africa.

Just make sure you set up your face in a very lit environment and tilt your phone in different angles to represent as many scenarios as u can.

Should it be right in front of your face or does it unlock even if the phone is a bit lower than the face level( i mean the normal position we use our phones) and finally is it easy and convenient to use or does it fail often ?

I think the most sensible thing to do is to take the phone To a service centre asap as this could be a hardware issue and the sooner you address it the better.
People could advise you to do a hard reset or clear cache and data from the Iris scanner (without hard reset) but the safest thing to do is to go straight to service centre.
Depending on the Consumer law in your country or the specific terms in which you have bought the phone under may give you additional options if you are within a certain time period (this can vary country to country) I had option to demand a replacement or my money back if I returned within 30 days, no questions asked if I had a fault. So worth checking your rights.
Sorry might not be the answer that you are looking for but its the most sensible thing to do in my opinion. I looked to see.if it was a widespread problem and could not find evidence for that other than a very limited isolated cases and the cases that I saw, finally had to go.back to the shop or to service centre.

I am talking about you cannot use iris scanner no matter what even in setting if i try to re register it says iris scanner not responding try again later. fingerprint sensor, facial recognition works only iris scanner and some sensors dont work.

as MKBHD reviewed the phone is almost perfect,
OK battery life
and the finger scanner location is not an issue...its only slow not that fast.
and dont compare the devices precisley as every device has it's own lackness...its an overall package you have to view and consider.
