The problem with the battery is not just of this handset, it is a case with almost every smartphone. But one way you can save your battery is by keeping your phone in airplane mode in non network area or at night if you have another mode of communication in emergencies. Your handset consumes a lot of power when it is searching for the network. I noticed that if I enable airplane mode at night than the battery consumed is only 2% contrary to 10%-1% which happens almost daily when it is in normal mode. Also i once had to spend my vacation in Andamans, where i didnt have network coverage. And by enabling airplane mode my battery lasted more than 2 days inspite of using my phone for games and camera.

I don't understand all you people. You should first know everything about your handset before you complain about it. This is an ice cream sandwich handset, which is obviously an old android version. They do lag a bit, but not so much as to cause discomfort or hamper your use. Use phone with care and don't download unnecessary apps and junk. Samsung is sure at fault for not providing updates for this model, but the latest update of ICS is better than nothing. It has made my phone smooth and hardly lags anymore. Plus the battery lasts longer. FYI I have been using this handset for past 15 months. And for the price this is was best as you could get at that time. Please don't compare the new handsets to old ones. Its almost like having a generation gap. It would be wrong to compare handsets released 2 months back with the ones releasing tomorrow. And if you want a handset with higher specs buy a new phone.

sameeha, 15 Aug 2014I have got a problem with my phone..by mistake it had fallen into the waterKeep your phone in a sack of rice. Rice is the most excellent and easily available natural absorbent. Keep it atleast for a day. Hopefully your phone would be good to use again.

I had this fot 12 months and I think its an okay phone for the price. The phone is pretty slugish, but does get the job done. Make sure you have a microSD card ready internal capacity is low and ram is also insufficient. The touchscreen is not very accurate but it gets the job done. I think this is an average phone, a little slugish but a good price.

That phone is a miserable piece of crap. Its battery hardly lasts a day, it is underpowered and unreliable. Just had to turn it on for the second time today because it shuts itself down spontaneously.
The touch screen is also very bad: sometimes it is activated very easily sometimes it is dead (perhaps because the device itself is underpowered).
Just don't bother buying this crap. I can't understand how a company like Samsung can offer this thing. I would never again buy anything from Samsung.
