Hii.. I have the AT&T version of Samsung Galaxy S III I747.. It has Android ICS 4.0.4 which I unlocked in India.. If I upgrade it to 4.1.1 from Kies, will it again get locked to the network?

I use mine on vodafone mumbai and works really well.

anon, 10 Apr 2013thanks for the reply, but just checked the news and even the s2 has recd 4.1.2 now. this is no... moreHas nothing to do with AT&T, other providers are using this phone (SGH-i747M) and none of them have 4.1.2, I also agree this phone will not be getting 4.1.2 and instead go straight to 4.2.2.
I have used 4.2.2 via a custom rom and no thank you, I will wait for an official release from Samsung.

Faj, 10 Apr 2013The problem is: when?We will probably get 4.2.2 after the S4 is officially released. This has been the practice last year when S3 was launched with ICS, Then the S2 and note starts to get ICS. Same practice.

I bought this phone just recently. Haven't tinkered with the system yet so it's pretty much fresh out of the box. I did a test with antutu benchmark and went into device and found out my phone only has 1gb of ram? Really confused, I mean shouldn't this have 2gb of ram,

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2013This phone will be getting Android 4.1.2 plus new 5.0 in the coming months ahead.I dont think this phone will ever get Android 5.0 because it is dual core phone. Only GS3 with quad core like model I9300 and I9305 will be getting Android 5.o KLP, according to the list that was released earlier from Samsung as to which device will be getting Android 5.0 KLP. It is reserved for all Quad core Samsung device, but not for this dual core GS3 even with 2GHz of Ram. I think Android 4.2.2 will be the last one that this GS3 model I747 will get.
