I honestly can't find a good enough reason to buy a tablet unless they have S-Pen support.
Smartphones today have a great screen and pack much more power, the point of a tablet to me is to be able to do things I can't do on my S8 for example. I know there's the Note 8, but for creative writing or taking extensive notes a phone feels clunky.
I'm still rocking my Galaxy Tab A SM550 just because of how good it feels to write on it. Shame the resolution sucks. I have an eye for the Tab A 10.1 2016, but honestly, all I really want is a 1080p 8.0" 4g tablet with S-Pen support.
Not going to happen, Samsung knows that some people can't live without the S-pen so we can only buy either a 6.4" $1000 phone, or their most expensive tablet Galaxy S3 (yes, the Tab A 2017 and 2018 series won't have S-pen support)...
Paying attention to price, it's suitable for ordinary staff & browsing.I'm satisfied from using it.

Recalling that it has been relaunched in other regions like Galaxy Tab J and as Galaxy J Max (with the difference this last to have LED flash in the main camera):
