Zanche01, 14 Nov 2016hi, does the tab A have OTG capabilities. don't seem to find an answer online .Yea of course otg is available and working great, as I said before it's a plus compared to iPad, you can connect whatever you want to the tablet just like a computer, you can check this picture for an exemple (I have a pen drive connected to an adaptor of USB\microSD TO microUSB)
A. Abbas, 07 Nov 2016 Can I create and edit excel sheet and word files on this tabYes you can create and edit word and excel files on this tablet, and you get Microsoft word and excel preinstalled, just keep in mind that some advanced actions require you to purchase office 360 subscription and also you won't have the full office experience on the tablet, some functions aren't available so office apps on android won't replace Windows software.
A. Abbas, 06 Nov 2016Can I create and edit excel sheet and word files on this tabYes, the one I bought came with the official Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint apps installed already. If not installed, they are free on the Play Store.
racecar, 30 Oct 2016Which is better?_ ipad air 2 or samsung tab a 9.7?Tab A 9.7 better. It have the longest battery life. 13 hours video playback.
racecar, 30 Oct 2016Which is better?_ ipad air 2 or samsung tab a 9.7?You're referring to iPad air second gen? If yes then yes ipad is much better , just keep in mind that they run on different operating systems, you can play games on iPad and you can watch videos same for the tab A but you can't plug a USB pendrive on the iPad, you can do that on tab A, you can't change anything on the home screen except rearranging your apps , you can install a different launcher on tab A ... Anyways the iPad is a better performer with a better screen and a better construction and better updates support ....

Anonymous, 24 Oct 2016Hi there, can i connect my samsung Galaxy tab A 9.7 to my TV? If so what lead do i need to use... moreThe Tab A doesn't have MHL output, so you won't be able to connect it to your TV with an HDMI cable.
There are a couple of wireless options, however:
If you just want to send videos/pictures/Netflix/etc., you could use a Chromecast - there's a list of apps that support it here: https://www.google.com/chromecast/apps/
If you need to do full screen mirroring, Samsung used to sell a thing called an "AllShare Cast Dongle" which supported that, however it has been discontinued. It *seems* to just be a standard MiraCast dongle, however, so it's possible that you could use any MiraCast receiver.
Hi there, can i connect my samsung Galaxy tab A 9.7 to my TV? If so what lead do i need to use to connect to the HDMI? Thanks
Sir i have tabA sm-t555 9.7inch. when i open my contact application they come unfortunately contact has stopped.how will open my contact application. What can i do sir
I have the Tab A 9.7 version I can report the following :
Screen : is the most important thing on a mobile device, the resolution is extremely low with a weak 768 x 1024 pixels (~132 ppi pixel density), text will look ok when viewing a zoomed web page, at normal zoom, text will look grainy, picture quality is great and brightness is more than enough for any situation, if you watch videos or view pictures it's a fairly good screen, except for small text, there is no light bleeding on this panel (nexus 9 has a catastrophic light bleeding screen). Let's talk a bit about its resolution and pixel density, it is bothering me, really! Specially on web pages and small pieces of text, what's the point of having a large tablet if we keep zoming to read a column of text on a web page? None! I can do that on my 4 years old Note 2, but it's not convenient, I can not see small letters well on my Tab A 9.7, it looks grainy and sometimes I have to look really close to be able to read
Performance : is fairly good, everything works well and the UI is snappy, high quality videos (1080p mkv) works great, large pdf files are handled with ease, webpages are displayed instantly, there is no problem with performance on this tablet, light gaming is possible
Battery life : with airplane mode on about 13:00 hours screen on time of mixed continus use (youtube, light gaming, reading...) or about 10:00 hours SOT with 3g enabled
Build quality : is very good
Phone calls : works great over H+ or gsm (available in my country) signal strength is better than my note2
Wifi : much much better and more stable than my note2 (which is/or was a great phone)
Hope this helps deciding what to get, A 10.1 or 9.7
I am planning to get the A 10.1 and my 9.7 will go to my wife, if anyone want to know more about the 9.7 I will try to help
