I have checked on settings... moreI would say try to find another (any other) device which uses S Pen:
- try your S Pen on the other device
- then try the other devices S Pen oy your Tab
This way you can figure out whether your S Pen is broken or there is some issue with the digitizer on your Tab.

Google the following and select a retailer: galaxy tab a 9.7 s pen replacement or galaxy tab a 9.7 s pen book cover (the official cover for this device). Note that the Wacom Bamboo Smart Samsung Note edition stylus is also compatible, but be careful to the select the Bamboo Smart for the Samsung devices stylus, not the other one.

The device is can be updated to Marshmallow, however I was not pleased with the update. The Air Command (launched by pressing the button on the S Pen) cannot be turned off, so in third party note taking apps it is not possible to set the button for undo/eraser/etc. functions.
RAM management is horrible, Chrome used to be switching between tabs instantly even with 10 tabs open, now it is reloading pages even with 3 opened tabs constantly or if switching back to chrome from a PDF reader lets say. Only half of the RAM is used at these times. Overall performance is worse than with Lollipop. i would not advice to update.

otherwise that device is very good speed, but i am not satisfied with camera.

I would prefer the higher pixel density, things are really pixelated on this tablet: I am taking notes in classes witn my Tab A 9.7 and I had to turn off the pressure sensitivity for the S Pen as my handwriting with pressure sensitive settings looked unpleasently pixelated. Same goes for PDFs with small fonts. It is OK for e-books and mobile pages and PDF if you cut off the white margins. Word, Excell, etc. is also OK in landscape. So the pixel density is OK, BUT far from grate! Also the split screen mode is handicapped by the low res screen on the 9.7. The sm-p585 CPU will also be better, but neither tablet is for hardcore gaming. I prefer the 4:3 aspect ratio of 9.7 but the superior pixel density of Tab A 10.1 2016 should make it WAY MORE USEFULL! I advise you to wait for the sm-p585.
