Anonymous, 29 May 2017Samsung are only interested in sales, so if you want an upgrade you need to buy a new one. Hav... moreTab E (exceptions are SM-T560NU, SM-T567, SM-T375 and SM-T377), Tab J, J1, J2, J3 are usually devices that were not designed to receive Android updates.
If your device ships Mediatek or Spreadtrum chipset, the chances of not getting Android updates are also great.

- Tab E 9.6 international (or original), with Spreadtrum chipset, 5000mAh battery and 8GB of internal storage. Not planned to receive Android updates, because of chipset.
- Tab E 9.6 exclusive to the United States and Canada (released three months after the original model, practically a Value Edition), with Snapdragon chipset, 7300mAh battery and 16GB internal storage.

If yours is the SM-T560NU or the SM-T567, it is the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset model. It should already be on Android Marshmallow, it has 16GB of internal storage and 7300mAh of battery.
If yours is not those two, it certainly is the Spreadtrum chipset model. Certainly also it will be with Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Be aware of Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 international version. because it is stuck at KitKat 4.4.4 and there will be no future updates.
