I am planning to upgrade to something with really large amount of RAM, so i can keep it for atleast 8 years :) Maybe Galaxy Tab 8 Ultra with 16GB RAM.
I still use my Galaxy Tab Pro daily, use the LineageOS on it. It doesnt work with Netflix or Youtube playback very good, but i use it as a media player, movies on an SD card are playing fine, and also photo frame works great. The screen is still fantastic after 9 years of use, i got mine in 2014 in London Heathrow airport.

I was able to root, install twrp, install Lineage OS and Gapps mini package within about 30 min. My wife's wonderful little tablet that had been running Android 4.4 since we got it, is now running Android 7.1 smooth as butter. Here's the link for the ROM:

Its 2020. My son broke his 2019 tab so I pulled this 2014 veteran out of the drawer. What a great machine. Its just a shame that it cant be updated. Stucked with android 4.2...... such a shame
Great little tablet, however when I bought it in 2015 the first year or so of using it was absolutely awful. Touchwiz was such a hog even though the specs of the tablet itself were amazing. Eventually I unlocked the bootloader and flashed an Android 7 rom onto it. Since then it has been running great and makes a great machine for all kinds of tasks, from watching YouTube, listening to music, social media, word processing, to just messing around with it.

And follow instructions. I believe it's power, volume, and return buttons. Two at top, one in middle at bottom of tablet. Press all three together. Then use volume button for choices. Scroll down to factory reset. And away you go. Glad I could help. Good luck.
A great tablet indeed. It's just sad that after 2 years Samsung decided not support this device for android upgrading. Looking forward, as new apps develop, fewer apps would this device be able to run. Very sad. This was an expensive device (got it for a good boxing day price). But really, Samsung should be responsible for the consumers who owns this device.
i like my tablet, BUT my WIFI is broken.
is same after reset
We have been given a broken screen Samsung T520 but it is locked with a passcode(pin) Can I reset this to factory settings and if so how? Can see the screen even though it is cracked.

The Samsung Tab Pro requires a 2.0 Amp/5.3 V charger head. It is *REALLY* important that it be the 2.0 Amp *AND* the 5.3 V. Samsung phones use a 5.0 V charger, and using one of the 5.0 V chargers will give you the red X over the battery icon, and will charge even more slowly than usual.
The Samsung Tab Pro has faulty charging ports which tend to wear out quickly (I mean, *REALLY* quickly. I had problems within a few months of purchasing mine), they take forever to charge, and the battery life is much lower than expected/advertised (as the last poster expresses.) I've had mine for only 2 years and am having to replace it due to charging issues.
My tab pro is 2 years old. It takes 16 hours to fly charge the battery and it drains in about 24 hours of intermittent use.

Love this tablet, hate Samsung's support, or lack thereof. No software updates? Really? I just rooted mine and installed Cyanogenmod 12. Runs better now than it did out of the box.
Great tab! However, it is sometimes sluggish on the pre-installed OS. Runs like a treat on CM.
It's absolutely ridiculous not to have an OS upgrade on this tablet. The hardware would support it, but Samsung is too cheap for it! I swear never to buy a bloody Samsung device ever again.
I have had this tablet for about a year and have had to factory reset it 3 times now as it would not recognize any Wi-Fi even though it was inches away. Very annoying. It would be working fine and then suddenly no recognition of wifi anywhere. I called Samsung support but they were not interested.
