this tablet is superb. The super amoled screen is wonderful when you watch videos. The tablet is super light so that you hardly notice the weight when you carry it on you. Yes, the speaker is average but still okay. Also the battery is not as bad as some here describe it. I owned a Nexus 9 and I can confirm that this tablet is as smooth as the Nexus 9. I just wish Samsung could do something about the finger print reader. Although it works, it lacks the response of a huawei device. "Samsung, do something about this, make it more oval if not round like others do". But apart from that, the tablet is really good and I can fully recommend it.

Finally Samsung has brought out a I pad killer. I use this everyday and use sides sidesync with my phone so it stays in my pocket and I can access my what's app and everything it's truly an amazing product hands down

superb product !! sleek design !! the only premium tablet to support voice calling...works flawlessly without any lag as it has a whopping 3GB ram... feels 100% premium..using with a 128 gb class 10 nitro memory card...really satisfied with performance and would recommend for buying......

In my opinion, the screen is absolutely horrible to the point where I'd call it unsuited for media consumption. The black crush is so severe that on a contrast scale from 0-255 (used a picture that shows these contrasts), everything below 10 looks like pitch black when you watch in a dark room at low brightness like you normally would a video. This means that you will miss out on details in dark scenes, and infact that's how i noticed it the first time, i was watching a video with dark scene I've watched before on PC and noticed that I barely saw anything. Changing the screen mode does NOT fix this problem. weven when ramping up the brightness to 100% you cannot distinguish contrasts below 5.
Also, the screen has sort of a contrast gradient going from bottom to top: At the bottom, contrast rich images (for example a dark blue image or grey) look brighter while they become darker at the top of the screen. makes the screen look uneven.
I'd pick a crappy TFT over this.

For LTE version: You have to take the little SIM card tray out at the side. Cut the SIM to "nano". Put the nano-SIM into the tray (contacts facing to the back) insert tray.
If you put any SIM card in without the tray you´ll have a h... of a time trying to get it back out.
You´d probably even have to send the tablet in to support.

The LTE version does not work with the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch.
I find that ridiculous since that is exactly what you would need to use the tablet as a phone.
Maybe Samsung does that on purpose?
I find it very disappointing.
Gear 2 watch works fine with Galaxy tab Pro 8.4 e.g.

Bugger using it as a phone, no sim card fitted. Its used on Wifi, can receive email fine, just wont send. Deleted my account the opened a new one, same problem. Settings are as per the book.

I hate this and want to sell it.the battery life is very short for me.samsung just like to makes the devices thinner and thinner.but doesn't know that reduces the battery life.like apple ipad air2 has lower battery stamina in compare to air1.....
and who said the thinner devices are better??????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I regret to buy this awful battery life Samsung.device has to set in hand comfortably. it can be 8mm or 9mm and Samsung copy from apple in this part is totally wrong.
