I have the Tab S2 VE (2016),still going strong but I was surprised that the Tab A (2016) version was updated to Android 8,while my S2 that cost twice as much is stuck on Android 7,worst even it just received a new security patch June 2020 I think, come on Samsung treat everyone equally, just my opinion

Stopi if you're ever reading this, it's absolutely possible.
My SM-T810 has been running Lineage for the past 2 years now. Expect increased battery life (as all the Google and Samsung bloatware won't drain your battery anymore), but you'll lose the fingerprint reader functionality.

I have the T810 version and have owned it for quite some time.
Battery is still good and I use it everyday.
It's no longer supported and stuck on Android 7.0.
Looking to see if its possible to flash a custom Rom.

I have the 2016 version. My battery life is pretty poor. I get just over 4 hours of screen on time with wifi on auto brightness. That's pretty bad.

And Samsung stays 100% si... moreI agree, I will think twice before buying again a Samsung Android flagship product, lack of support for a lot of money.
I also have Tab S2 VE,it had received one android version update. I am using LineageOS with Android 9 now, from hardware point of view is till okay the quality of the tab is also okay.

Absolutely disappointed. Output was sluggish & now the sim tray stopped functioning. Company service centre says the entire mother board has to be changed that will cost me a bomb !! Chinese models for me in future.
