I would like to know why my battery life is trash? I get like 10 hours of video if I'm lucky screen brightness is at 35% and I have battery saver medium on. It's weird that my tab a 2016 got 19h of screen time with video and music streaming but this new tablet can't even hit the advertised 13h. Also when will it get Android 10? The 2019 tab a got Android 10 first which is messed up. Thx for helping ☺️
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2020Why did you write "need" then. "You really need to learn more about Android"Because my answer is naturally is biased towards my own use case scenario. The fact is, I use DEX mode in my tablet exclusively with a USB C to HDMI adapter because when I enable it, it is only when projecting videos/movies to my big screen TV to avoid ugly black bars all around. Do you even understand my use case scenario, or is it too complicated for you?
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2020No you don't. You enable it on the quick panel and it runs dex mode. Phones need an adapt... moreYes, the tab S5e doesn't really need an adapter to turn its 10.5" screen into a desktop interface. But you may still want to use an adapter if you want a bigger screen than the tablet.
I personally use DEX mode when I want to play/project 4K videos stored in my tab S5e to my big screen TV. Wireless mirroring is convenient but there is degradation in playback smoothness and video quality especially for high bit rate videos (4K). Wired connection is still best especially for high bit rate 4K videos for maximum video quality and smoothness (no stutters, frame skips or quality loss from video compression).
For that wired connection, I use a third party USB C to HDMI adapter (UGREEN). I enable DEX mode and the tablet becomes a mousepad. The reason I enable DEX mode in the wired connection is so that the 16:9 TV doesn't mirror the 16:10 tablet screen which creates ugly black bars all around a 16:9 movie or video I'm viewing.
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2020Yes, it has Dex mode. You'll need a USB C to HDMI adapter to enable it. No you don't. You enable it on the quick panel and it runs dex mode. Phones need an adapter for dex, not tablets.
Anonymous, 01 Aug 2020Does it have samsung dex cuz it doesnt say it here but i watched some videos where it was usedYes, it has Dex mode. You'll need a USB C to HDMI adapter to enable it.
Anonymous, 31 Jul 2020Hi guys I want to khnow how long does battery last, when you are wstching movie or internet...It will drain 20% in about 2 hrs of movie watching while on wireless screen mirroring of offline Netflix downloads. Extrapolating, that's around 10hrs offline movie watching with screen mirrored to smart TV via Wifi direct. It may last longer if you only watch the offline download on the tablet screen as wifi is off. Streaming directly Netflix using mobile LTE data will certainly give you shorter viewing time than that because LTE consumes a lot of battery.

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2020Yes you can send and receive calls from the tab S5e. I meant only the LTE version of the Tab S5e can make or receive voice calls. The WIFI only version cannot because there's no SIM slot.
binay, 30 Jul 2020can I make voice callYes you can send and receive calls from the tab S5e.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2020I said many times why I don't PREFER Nova launcher on my tablet over OneUI launcher. Anyw... moreI actually tried to help you setup Nova launcher so you can increase icon size and be able to swipe up anywhere in the screen, just like the default Samsung launcher, to access the app drawer.
You said you use Nova launcher on your phone so I don't understand what makes it weird in a tablet. But if you really prefer Samsung's limited launcher, then you can continue complaining about its small icon sizes. I won't bother anymore.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2020My goodness! Just try inputting 300dp in the 'Minimum width' under your tab S5e'... moreBtw I'm well aware of the two settings, doesn't change the fact you can't change this one simple thing with one toggle. It's called user experience, being able to change things without fiddling around elsewhere. This is mainly a problem of the integrated launcher by Samsung.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2020Yes I'm amused the adjectives you use apply only to you. I don't have a defective S5... moreI said many times why I don't PREFER Nova launcher on my tablet over OneUI launcher. Anyway, I'm going to ignore you now since you clearly have a problem with other peoples opinions and preferences, and don't have any useful input. Icons were bigger on Android 9 with this tablet and native launcher. I'm sure you still don't get it but whatever.
Anonymous, 26 Jul 2020I use it in landscape mode mainly. The only bitter and ignorant person is you. Continue making... moreYes I'm amused the adjectives you use apply only to you. I don't have a defective S5e, it's you who are unhappy with it so now you know who's bitter. You also complained about icon sizes and claim to use Nova launcher and have an android phone since 201, but until now, don't know how to set icon sizes and DP settings (Minimum width) in developer options. Now you know who's ignorant. :)
