Jason, 15 Dec 2016Is it safe to update to the latest marshmallow version? Yes.
Had my OTA update now for a while with no ill effects whatsoever. Will keep this outstanding tablet fresh for quite a while yet.
BTW I will say my Tab S takes an awful long time to charge, this was the case before any updates. Will/can 'fast charge' ever come via updates on an older device or is this a hardware thing?
after marshmallow update
at first everything was fine, but after a few hours of usage and transferring a few files from the laptop, i decided to restart it (it takes forever to boot with the samsung logo on screen) and after ages of waiting i get a note at startup (process system isn't responding) + the wifi don't work anymore.
clearing cache & data (through recovery mode) didn't help either.
Finally i received marshmallow OTA today morning in india.
Samy you are too late on updates.
Works fine. Yet to discover what's new.
Sohail, 04 Nov 2016Mr.Savio38, I just tried update to marshmallow after 906MB update data but it's stuck at Samsu... morei have found a solution here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/help/stuck-samsung-logo-t3067773/page2 and finally got rid of it. thanks a lot ...
Mr.Savio38, I just tried update to marshmallow after 906MB update data but it's stuck at Samsung logo after 1-100% update. What should I do now ? Can you provide any step by step link to solve the issue? Or any solution by Kies or Odin ( with link please ). Thanks... I really am worried to solve this.
Samsung S galaxy is amazing... glad it literally informs me when it needs a software upgrade
Am from Nigeria, I received an update/upgrade to Marshmallow 6.0.1 OTA of 838MB on my Tab S 10.5 LTE yesterday 17-10-2016. After the upgrade, my Tab performance is very good and excellent.
My people, if your Tab pop up for update/upgrade, go ahead and upgrade to Marshmallow 6.0.1 you will enjoy your Tab S 10.5 LTE more. Good luck!
High time the tablets are updated. At least 64 GB internal memory. And some point from where one can down load to a flash memory. Thanks.
How can we organise to ask Samsung to make the next model widescreen as the galaxy tab s?. There's so many complains about the Samsung galaxy s2 for the 4:3 format.
Bino, 25 Sep 2016Oh..same thing happened.my tab also stuck at the logo...can someone help?Get the firmwares and install it using odin, or samsung kies instead
Tab S10.5, after the update to 6.0.1, is now discharging very fast and the battery needs to be recharged after one hour of usage. Samsung should now give proper fix OTA. Other wise Samsung will lose credibility.
Savio38, 10 Sep 2016Dont update latest update. it will screw your tab. My tab which is hardly used and fresh is no... moreSavio38 - do you have a link for the steps you took. I got the update and now it is stuck at the Samsung logo. I have seen some responses elsewhere to do factory reset and wipe. I would like to avoid that if possible, but I am guessing it isn't. Does your method preserve data?
Anonymous, 21 Aug 2016Nope. If you want a Samsung tablet with 6.0.1 update go for Tab S2 or Tab A 9.7. Tab S is too ... morefyi tab s is only about 18 months old. and a very powerfull tablet with 3gb ram...
Savio38, 10 Sep 2016Dont update latest update. it will screw your tab. My tab which is hardly used and fresh is no... moreok finally got it to work back by going into boot mode and then installing samsung kies software and doing a firmware recovery manually . wasted 6 hours of my time . samsung does not even have a support blog or i am not aware of this. guys if you have it stuck at boot screen do a manual upgrade using your pc. samsung should take action against the morons who allowed this wrong ota upgrade and terminate them from employment asap.
Dont update latest update. it will screw your tab. My tab which is hardly used and fresh is not starting . it is stuck at samsung logo. I cant believe Samsung would roll out a new update that will actually spoil your perfectly working device, after the latest note 7 EXPLODING !!! Battery fiasco . These guys have not learned anything . People responsible for this needs to be fired immediately.
